Is that what your mother did with you while she went shopping? That might explain your anti-social attitude.

Most parents bring their children to the grocery store because they don't have a choice. I'm a mother of two and believe me when they where children even though they were very well behaved, I would have loved to go grocery shopping by myself it's much easier. One thing stores could do to help is not have the candy and gum right by the checkout. The military commissaries don't have them by the checkout and I can tell you from experience that it makes a world of difference. Please be a little understanding children have short attention spans and get bored and tired; which frustrates them and they tend to act out because they don't know how to express themselves, which often leads to whining . By the way for future reference locking a child in the car especially without an adult is a serious crime. If all else fails get another job parents don't care for inconsiderate store clerks either.

Well, lets see...Some of us who are parents don't have the privilege of leaving our kids with a babysitter just to go the grocery store. Also some of us do not have the money. So, we have to bring them to the grocery store like it or not. We can't leave them locked in the car because we will go to jail for child endangerment especially if it is extremely hot weather or extremely cold weather and they could die, or they can set off the emergency brake and roll the car off, or get out of the car and go wondering around the parking lot, get hit by a car and die...Or have some crazed idiot kidnap my child out of the car and I never see my child again...So it's either worry about you and your co-workers tender feelings about listening to my child cry and whine, or ensuring that my child is safe with me...Tough call huh??? Oh, and by the way, you aren't there to gripe about children whine and cry, you are there to work and that happens to be a part of the job, it will never change, so grow up...If you don't like it, find another job.

Its not the childrens fault but rather the parents. The parents usually bring them when they are tired or hungry and that is when problems begin. It is because too many parents do not know how to take care of their children, they do not plan for the future by having enough money to hire a sitter while they shop or take turns shopping while the spouse takes care of the children. It is very sad for the children and I sympathize with them

Overall I agree with you. It is really awful for someone to subject everyone to the tortures of their children running rampant and squalling at ear-splitting levels.
On the flip side, the parents don't always have the option of getting a babysitter so they can go after a few basic groceries.
As a spiritualist I did learn a very effective trick for handling cranky criers... I mentally put them in a shaft of God's Light, and ask God to reming the child where he came from. I get a little chill. The crying stops almost immediately and many times the kid starts giggling or singing.

As a mom of three I have every frigging right to take my kids where I want and when I want. And if you don't like it you can leave or plug your ears, or whatever. Too bad your parents decided to procreate, lets hope you never do.

When I was a kid, We stayed in the CAR! They did not have all those stupid child endangerment laws when I was a kid. Children are MINORS and did not have the so called rights they have now. Besides, Why would I or anyone else be forced to listen to your screaming brats in the store. We do not get the TAX BREAKS like you do because you produced them. If By chance we did act up in the store we were put in our place by a good smack up side the head.
