The girl was abducted and gang raped but she was punished by the court for being in a car with a man who was not a close relative.

Many countries have protested. The US ( a close Saudi ally) described the ruling as astonishing. Canada described it as barbaric. In UK where we have just received a state visit from the Saudi king, with all pomp and circumstance, our govt. has kept a cowardly silence.

What do you think, of this latest example of Muslim justice?

Just to remove any misunderstanding, the Saudi people agree with the punisment and none of the Muslims or their organisations here (UK), have issued the slightest protest. S.Arabia is the fountain head of their religion.

ur story without evidence is nothing. if the crime is rape, she is NOT punished at all. even if it is fornication, she is punished by 100 lashes ONLY (if not married).
no one can deny anyway that she was mistaken by going out with a bad guy. u r rather supporting islamic laws by this story (if true), as nothing of this would happen if she didn't go out with a bad strange man!
about muslims in UK not protesting... they don't protest against everyday israeli violence against palestinians with MANY victims.

All you misguided idiots are wrong. Prophet Mohammad would NOT have done this. The Saudi government got the case wrong. But it's known throughout history that you haters will take every chance to put Islam in a negative light. We've been told you will do that, so I personally don't give a F*CK what yall think. But guess what? No matter what you say, how bad you want to make as look, how you purposely distort the truth about us, we're still the fastest growing religion in the U.S. and the world. Allah will let His Light shine, inspite of the unbelievers.

How about we look at guantanamo bay? That's American justice right there isnt it? A military that basically kidnaps innocent people who they deem are "terrorists" yet they have not charged them with anything after all these years. I spoke to a former soldier who said the superior officers are the onces who ordered the torturing of inmates and desecrating of the Quran, and how the officers would reprimand anyone caught being nice to the prisoners or treating them humanely. How about Abu Ghuraib? Gee golly makes us proud to be Americans right? All the people responsible for that kind of SH*T and those that support it will BURN....IN....HELL....FOREVER. And just incase you don't believe in that, it doesn't matter. It will still happen.

I think it's safe to say that "SANE" people are opposed to this kind of treatment, and the guy who professed Islam nations are a wonderful place for women to live, is just a moron!! "Brainwashing", Religious fanatics, alive and well in those countries, as it has been for Centuries!! To me, it is sad.. To see, lets say on a TV news broadcast, little Islamic children, both male and female, and what they are being taught, is just so sad. That they too will grow up to be Animals and Victims, and don't even know it yet..... If you took those children and raised them somewhere where that doesn't happen, imagine what kind of life and future they would have...... But their parents are mindless people to allow and believe crazy teachings in the first place, by the crazy Nut Jobs who have held power all these years, passed down from generation to generation..... There are sane people all over, unfortunately, they are outnumbered, and are "Labeled" due to their people who are not, and will never get a fair chance by most of the rest of the world because of that...... Shame huh.....

Did you know the original sentence was with 90 lashes but because she talked with the media, they gave her an additional 110?

I think it is a sad state of affairs.

Their laws (Islam) are very strict and she broke them. Now she is paying the price. I don't agree with their laws because rape is a crime of power and control. It is not about the sex.

However, in their culture and religion, women are viewed as dangerous because of the power they hold (sex.) That is one of the many reasons they must wear a burka...or some type of covering from head to toe.

I am completely pained by such injustice, and such blatant disregard of this young woman. Such injustice is not isolated only to Saudi Arabia, but the world over. It is a tragedy that causes me deep grief. My heart aches for her. Every nation, culture, and race of people have at one time or another committed horrible crimes against fellow humans and God. Vile crimes like these make up the majority of human history as a whole.

I haven't heard of this case, but if what you are saying is true, it is a sick perversion indeed. But I love the way so many respondents say things like "That's Islamic law in action for you", as if any of them have any clue about Islamic law, its history, goals, or level of application in Saudi Arabia!

That Saudi King is the Diabolic. The sad thing is Saudi people have no morals or guts to stand against that SOB.

I think its sickening.

That's like a story I read in Seventeen. There was a woman who was walking with her niece. There were 3 men who came and tried to rape them, and the woman killed one of the men, and they got away. Later the woman had to go to jail for murder (she has since been released).

There was another one I heard where a boy of a low class family was walking with a girl of a higher station (which apparently is illegal). As HIS punishment, his SISTER was gang raped.

I don't know where exactly these stories take place (I know in the Middle East, for sure), but the fact that it happens is atrocious.

Understand that the lashes were not sentenced due to her being raped, but because she was in a car with a stranger and it was increased to 200, because she "challenged" the Judaical authority by taking it to the press. Note: I'm not saying that this is good, merely making sure that we understand the legalities of it.

This is precisely why we should not seek to legislate our morality or religious beliefs.

I think it's pathetic and my heart goes out to the poor girL They should bring her to the US or the UK where she'll be treated like an actual human bieng. I'm started to rethink my stance on wether or not muslims are peaceful... Considering no muslims have spoken against this.

Edit:Plus she shouldn't have been punished for getting in the car in the first place. It's the 21st century women are not property anymore!!
