If anyone is a member or you know some one who has dealings with them …..can you please tell me your experience …going to replace my kitchen cabinets soon ….and I know this can be a costly task…so I want to get the best deals possible…thanks for your replies…

Someone posted a similar question earlier. For what it's worth, here's what I posted....

I have never used Direct Buy but did a little research a while back. My wife and I were remodeling a bathroom so out of curiosity she contacted Direct Buy. At the time it struck me as odd how they wanted to go about it. You had to leave contact information and then they would call you to set up an appointment to vist their showroom. Also, my wife made the contact through the web and within a couple of hours she received more than one call....it just seemed a bit too agressive.

I remembered hearing less than flattering things about them so I did a little searching on the web. There had to be about a million references to what a rip-off it was. I mean page after page of poor quality, bait and switch, changing prices between order and receipt, undelivered items, prices no better than retail.....Not to mention that they use a high pressure sell on the membership ("If you don't join tonight you're banned from joining for 1 year"). I also saw more than one reference where people felt Direct Buy had used "actors" during the open house to pretend to be other potential customers who couldn't wait to sign up.

Fees were running $3000 - $5000 so how much stuff can you buy before you recoup that cost? Admittedly, there were a few people who said it worked out okay for them but almost every posting I saw said they regretted ever getting invloved with Direct Buy and lost money on the deal.

If you are thinking about a membership, I would be extremely careful. You may want to take a look at this first:

I cannot professionally reccomend or dispute them due to potential liabilities. . . though I will express my "personal" opinion, this is a scam.

If you're looking for "Quality" kitchen cabinetry and want to save big money shop your project out to local shops. My last kitchen project scheduled out at $26,000.00 at Home Depot and Lowe's and I got it done for the customer for $14,000.00 with a local who provided a better cabinet and more features.

I work all over the U.S. and depending where you are, may be able to help you out. If you would like, contact me directly and I'll see if I can help you.

I went to their website after watching their commercial on TV and gave them my postal address. They sent me all info to get in the door & cost to join.
Here was the rules:

We received a free pass to get in,but I had to call &
they set the appointment date for our visit.
I could not go alone, my husband had to be with me.We would be given a tour of the facility and if we wanted to join we had to join right then and the cost was $12,000.....yes twelve thousand dollars. I had all this in writing and I tossed it in the garbage and knew this hi dollar club was not frugal enough for me. Yes, they are a rip-off.

You start off by paying them around $4000 for the membership fee. You also pay for delivery of anything you buy. I have heard people complain about getting help if things are damaged in delivery.
