I had a dream that I was floating over a body of water. The water had many colors---very beautiful, and I could swim around on the surface. Wierd, I know...and no, I wasn't on anything.

What a cool dream!
Floating over a body of water with all kinds of colors can have lots of meanings.
One idea is that you have recently found contentment with a recent decision or choice you made.
Another idea is that you are ready to make and accept changes in your life. Water represents change - the different clors of the water means you have a lot of possibilities before you and you swimming around the surface means you are trying out a lot of ideas before diving deeper into learning about one.
I'm glad you found a good place to hang out for awhile. Enjoy it while you can.

what you experienced was soul travel... an out of body experience... it is beautiful to experience these things most of us to have experiences once in a while like this tho many do not or do not recall them...
it is when your spirit travels outside your body... tho the consciousness connection is still intact...you are seeing other realms of consciousness...
Hope this helped
