I just bought some powder in the bulk foods section of the grocery store. It's called brown gravy mix. How do I make a cup of gravy? Just add boiling water?

Brown Gravy Mix

Mixing Instructions:
Using a wire whisk, blend approx. 1/3 cup (2 oz. by wt.) into 2 cups of fresh, cold tap water.
Heat to boil stirring constantly until thick, reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes. Thin with more water if too thick, and rewarm. Serve. Yields approx. 2 cups.

I love shopping in the bulk food section, it's so much cheaper, and you can get only the amount you need. But preparation can be tricky if you don't have the instructions. There are notepads or stacks or little notes with preparation instructions, look for them next time (sometimes the one you want isn't there).

There should have been directions posted in the store. You can try various amounts of mix with hot water until you like the taste.
