I have combination skin, and you probably do to. Combination skin is when you're very oily and yet your skin is still dry, its hard to tell this for some people and I honestly didn't know until I was told. The best way to do this, and this is a natural remedy I found on a website. First is to wash your face with the following mix of ingredients: Sugar, honey and lemon juice. Just use a couple spoonfuls of sugar and honey (to make enough to actually wash your face with) and a few drops of the lemon juice. This is a natural exfoliator for your skin. After you wash, rinse and dry. Make a facial mask of 2 egg whites, lemon juice. Beat them together and apply to a dry face for 5-7 minutes. This will actually help to tighten your face and it pulls all the excess oils and dirt out of your pores, and even helps to shrink them. As an added bonus it will help clear up any white heads/black heads/ acne that you have and leave your face feeling very clean and very tight. This replaces any face wash or mask that you have bought and are using, you don't need both. You should also invest in a decent moisturizer that is oil free. Usually when your face produces excess oil its usually because your skin is actually very dry. Moisturizing it with and oil free moisturizer is a good way to reduce the oil but keep your face from drying out and producing more oil. Another good product, (Which I absolutely adore) is an astringent called Witch Hazel. You apply a small amount to a facial pad or cotton ball and simply apply all over your face. This is best used right before applying your moisturizer and should only be done a few times a week, especially if you're using the other products. I've recently stopped making the wash and mask because I haven't needed to use it anymore, since its greatly improved the shape of my skin. I use the witch hazel every day, but I apply a good deal of the moisturizer to counter balance the dry effect of the astringent. Best of luck to you.

When you say "cure" you mean forever? If so,then then answer is no.But there are products that can help it get under control.Plus the drier you keep your face, the skin is going to think it needs to produce more oil, thus the oily skin. But it can also be genes. In any case,do you know the one thing that's good about oily skin? It's going to make your skin age slower, because the oil acts like a preservative. You need to take care of your face everyday,by cleansing it properly and using a toner and moisturizer specific for oily skin.Stay away from products with too much alcohol, you dont want to dry it.

Nothing will cure your oily skin. You can control the oil by keeping your face clean and using a drying solution. As you age your skin may produce less oil.

Raw honey works incredibly well because not only is it natural, but it has anti-bacterial properties that works just as good and probably better than any lab-made cream in the market. I Highly recommend honey facial masks.

Is it possible to "cure" oily skin?

It depends. It could be hereditary or it could be your skin overcompensating because it is too dry. Make sure you drink a lot of water to keep your body hydrated. Make sure you use a good cleanser twice a day and a good mask. Seriesse has a very good cleanser and mask that you may want to try. It's perfect for all skin types. It's called Glycolic Essentials.

i have dealt with oily skin for a long time and it seemed like nothing was working. so, i went to see a dermatologist and now i'm using metrogel every night. you need a prescription so going to see a professional is a good idea. it has made a huge difference in my skin.

sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no way to 'get rid" of it permanently because its genetics but you can control it with the right skin products. I use Netruogena oil free acne wash (cream cleanser, not gel) and it works really good.

For people with oily/combination skin, we have to use cream cleanser, not anything gel because products with gel in it isnt effective on pll who have oily skin, so pick products that are cream cleanser =D
