is there a way to make a japanese ps3 into a US ps3?

pls anyone give me some advice you know like probably updating the system firmware with US firmware or converting jsut anything related with the topic, and pls dont give me any answers saying like "why did you get a japanese ps3 in the first place?" pls just dont answer if its not gonna help!!!!

US 60GB is a NTSC U/C console, japanese is a NTSC J console. You can't change that. If you want to play US PS2 games on it - unfortunately, you can't. PS3 games are region free.
