My boyfriend goes to school in the south. His family along with me live in the north. Ever since he left, he acts like the south is amazing and it makes me feel horrible to think that he likes the south better. He brings up his ex girlfriend at the worst possible times, and it's been over two years since they broke up. He also tells me that he barely drinks, but when he's with friends i hear about his drinking stories and I find it hard to believe. I don't know if he's telling the truth when he's me or when he's with his friend. I also have a problem talking with him about all of this, and i'm not sure if talking to him would be a good idea? Some people say that it is a good idea, but i'm not so sure. I need advice.

I don't mean to be nasty, but you're all whiny, running off a big list of problems. So from the outside it looks better for you to move on. there is nothing positive on your list, and the outlook is bleak. It's a long distance relationship (they never work with kids) he's still hung up about his ex, and he feels he has to hide details about having fun from you.

Based on the little you give, I don't see a future.

If he is under 21 talk to his parents about his drinking before he ends up dead hon.If he is over 21, not much you can do.He can drink above the mason dixon line as well as below it.

here is some advice.

give him some space.

don't hound him with questions, just whenever you hear drinking stories about him just say i don't like when he drinks like that and if he doesn't say anything to you, then just let him wait till the time is right to tell you about himself.

so remember wait until he is ready to discuss it.

I think either he's trying to make you jealous so you will move where he is or he is just being a bad boyfriend up to nooo good!!!
