My parents said they are. But I have learned about 96% of the things they say are false. So are they really bad or is this another lie my parents told me?

No. Wiccans do not worship the Christian God. They worship a female godess who has a male consort. Some of them practice magic. Wicca (IPA: /ˈwɪkə/) is a nature-based religion found in various countries throughout the world. It was first popularised in 1954 by Gerald Gardner, a retired British civil servant.[1] He claimed that the religion, of which he was an initiate, was a modern survival of an old witchcraft religion, which had existed in secret for hundreds of years, originating in the pre-Christian Paganism of Europe.

Wiki has a pretty good article.

I can only speak from my own experience, from my own perspective. I used to lead some pagan groups, with a lot of Wiccans in them. I found most of them to be lovely people. The issue for me is the lack of moral boundaries, especially with the use of magick. The Rede just doesn't cut it. Frankly, some don't have the skill to determine that their actions will "harm none." I have also seen them go against the Rede. I have also found many to be immature and extremely liberal(to an unbalanced degree) Some are not as educated on their origins as they could be. But remember, there are good and bad people to every group. This group is no different.

No, Wiccans are not evil. But this doesn't mean your parents are lying to you, neccessarily. Some people think Wiccans are evil because of lies they are taught, but some actually think they are evil just because they are not of the same belief and don't worship the god they do.

But like I said, no, Wiccans are not evil. They actually follow two rules, the Wiccan Rede and the Rule of Three, that together make up something like this: you can do what you want as long as it hurts no one and nothing AT ALL in any way; if it does hurt anything, the "bad" you send out will come back at you (like karma), but amplified by three. The same goes for good, too (it'll come back X 3).

Hope this helped you. And remember, your parents are entitled to their opinion, too, so don't get mad at them because they disagree with Wicca.

If you are a Christian, there are the ten Commandments. one million) You shall have no different gods earlier than me --Wicca has more than one gods/godesses, so that is out. two) You shall no longer make for your self an idol Some Wiccans have idols in their deities. So, there are 2 of the ten commandments against it. Christianity believes that different gods are in fact fallen angels(demons). Christianity is also against demon or angel worship, so that is out too. Christianity also teaches of Hell, because Jesus went there for the period of after he died, however earlier than he resurrected. So, If you do not consider in Hell, you cannot be a Christian. Hope this helped. By the way, a notion method/faith does not do you a lot well except you really consider it(faith). Sounds such as you have doubts. Here is a bible quote: two Corinthians 6:14-18 (New International Version) Do Not Be Yoked With Unbelievers 14Do no longer be yoked in conjunction with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in usual? Or what fellowship can mild have with darkness? 15What harmony is there among Christ and Belial[a]? What does a believer have in usual with an unbeliever? 16What agreement is there among the temple of God and idols?

Wiccans are not bad people, but I think the larger issue for you is why you think your parents lie to you 96% of the time.

We are not bad people. We are no worse or better than any human being on this earth. We DO hold some Christian values to not work for us (for instance, most Wiccans reject the idea of perfect submission to anything). A great many of us are witches, but we don't worship the devil. Most of us don't even believe in the devil. We believe in balance and harmony between nature and humans. Most believe that truth is relative and that there is no ONE TRUE god. We are generally polytheistic and pantheistic. We believe in the Rede which states "An' it harm none, do what thou will." This allows for us to perform any acts that are not harmful to ourselves or others. This is subject to many different interpretations, but for the most part, we are a peaceful loving people.

Wiccans are people. Some are good, some are not. But the religion of Wicca is not bad. It's a very positive and good belief system.

Ask your parents to read more about Wicca.

There are bad people of all religions, but of all the Wiccans I have met, I have never met a bad apple. I have met many more bad Christians, if you want to know the truth. Wiccans believe that ANY bad they send out comes back onto them, times three, so it would not be advantageous to be bad to another.

Another lie your parents told you...

If you feel like you need a site to show them that gives legitimate and down-to-earth information about Wicca, wicca.timerift.net is a good place. It doesn't waste time listing all the reasons why Wiccans are wrongfully persecuted, it doesn't try to prove how full of light Wicca is... it's a practical site with real information.

NO, absolutely not. I have alot of Wiccan friends and they live their lives every day the same as anyone. They don't worship Satan, and they actively seek to do good things, as they believe that the energy(good or bad) will return to them three fold. So they want to always do good in life.
They also care deeply for social and environmental causes and fight for what's right. Not because the gods will strike them down, but because they want the world to be better.
