I just bought a 1994 1500 series ram 4x4 with a 5.2 318.
Truck was running excellent and all of sudden it just wants to die when I depress the accelerator. There is a hissing noise coming from around the upper intake.I looked for faulty vacuum hoses and unplugged the Coolant temp sensor but no better.
I didnt check the EGR valve yet,or maybe on those they don't have one,I am used to Chevy trucks.
Some people have told me maybe the cat converter plugged up,and it blows air back towards the engine, causing the hissing sound.I didnt check for fault codes yet, the check engine light is not on,but it's on when I first turn the key so I know it's working.
This truck had the head overhauled not too long ago says the seller...
Any suggestions??

There is what looks like a connector in the back of the intake. But no loose connector around it...I'm puzzled...could the cat conv cause it??I was hearing the ceramics rattle in there for 2-3 days.
