"For although they knew God, they never glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles . . .They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator - who is forever praised. Amen. (Romans 1:21-23,25)

"Christ" is our savior - This is just a statement in a book called Bible.
Evolution has its evidences in fossils etc. and many independent scientists have agreed upon it. Now both of these reasons are not sufficient to really prove that evolution is truth (the evidences might have some other explanation), but these certainly make it more credible than the sole reason of a mention in a book.

On a certain level it makes sense. However, I believe that while we were created, there has been adaptation that has occured. Evolution is a word thrown about like Ho in a rap song. There is a difference between evolution and adaptation. If I am taken from my home land and deposited somewhere else I will adapt. If a food supply becomes scarce a fish will adapt or die. I believe that the DNA that is present in all life froms has this ability. I do not believe that all life came from a primordial ooze. A s complex as all of the plants, insects, ocean life and land life are there had to be some planning. I also think that due to the vagueness of the book of genesis many people just go with evolution. It is possible that God did not feel it neccessary to bestow upon us all of the minute details of how life started, so he kind of summed it up for us, afterall the Bible is not about where we came from, it is more a manual on how to live the life we have. This vagueness has left a window open for doubters to climb through. They say that since the Bible is only x number of years old that it doesn't work with our ability to guess at the age of things we find buried in the ground. A feasible argument if you are also assuming that God would have told us everything about what happened before we got here. It really doesn't matter. What matters is who we are now.

Religion has been used since the dawn of man to explain what couldn't be explained by rational thought.
As science advances and new ideas come along, that window is shrinks.
The ancient Egyptians thought that the sun moved because of a giant beetle.
Just like the Galilean model of the solar system when it was new, evolution isn't accepted by many Christians now because they (and apparently you) seem to believe that it is infringing on religion's ground.
Evolution is fact, and believe it or not, it is compatible with Christianity.
Most people (most rational people anyways), accept evolution, and many of them are indeed Christian.
God made the universe in seven days, yes?
Well, who's to say that seven days to God is equal to seven earth days?
Evolution can fit right there if you let it, just like you say you let Jesus in.

There is scientific evidence that supports the theory of evolution. That is the larger reason, in my opinion, why people choose the theory of evolution over creation.
Why people don't believe in Jesus as Christ is something separate from the reason why people adhere to evolution. There are some who believe in both. One does not necessarily discount the other from certain POVs.

Christ is a fair weather savior... He has too many glitches! He didn't want to die for anybody... He really chickened out at the last moment and throughout his "ministry"...
Hebrews 5:7-8 (NIV) During the days of Jesus' life on earth* (*all along) , he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered
So you see Jesus was really scared to die. Good thing that Saint Paul came along later on and finished whatever pain Jesus still had to suffer in his flesh...
Colossians 1:24 (NIV) Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
And that is why God rewarded Saint Paul with the "STIGMATTA". He was the first Christian to get it.
Galatians 6:17 (NIV) Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

Wow, your question really stirred things up!
Personally, I believe in both. God created everything, including us. The Bible doesn't give a lot of details about how He did it. He just did it. Remember that God uses the process to get what he wants. He could have made us all perfect from the beginning, but instead he created us as beings that have to learn and grow as we mature, reaching towards knowing him more.
I Think that evolution is just one of the ways he has of showing us that it is not who we are now that is important, it is who we will become by striving to know more.
Don't let the haters dissuade you from asking you questions, but remember that what you learn tomorrow may change what you believe today.

Because there is no such thing as a savior, babe, Christ was just a man and evolution is REAL.
Tell me why people believe in Invisible Sky Critters (credit to whoever I got that from.) and books written by unknown people who were most likely...I won't finish that.

It's called "using the brain what 'god' gave you".
If 'god' didn't want us to realise he was a faerie tale he would not have given us the ability to think so.
Invisible Sky Critters do not exist.
Jesus is and or was just a re-cycled god-man myth; the concept has been used countless times throughout history.
Please do some investigation.

There are two common reasons -- neither one of which will usually be admitted to by any self-respecting Atheist or Evolutionist (and, of course, they only have respect for self and never anyone whom doesn't believe as they do).
1) Because a bad childhood experience, from misguided Bible followers, has left them with a bad spiritual taste in their mouths.
2) Because belief in Christ requires a lifestyle change and a letting go of the reigns. That is too much for some people.
