What does vaseline do for your skin?

That may sound dumb. Deal with it.
I've heard alot of people on here say its apart of their ruitine skin care. What does it do exactly, for the skin? I have acne and am wondering if it can help me at all, or at least make my skin moiterized or something. Please answer! Thanks. :)

Vaseline is made from petroleum. an oil by-product. we absorb things thru r skin. do u think it is good 2 absorb an oil by-product? see, u r smarter then u think? i no, everyone is doing it...
i suggest Spectrum coconut oil. after you wash your face(i use a soap made from goats milk called Zum. i get it at Whole Foods or Wild Oats) really well apply a thin covering to your face. it's OK 2 use with acne. after a week of use i noticed my pores got smaller. later the dead skin started to come off. i kept using it tho. i use it on my hair for shine and softness.
the most important is 2 get it into ur diet. start small and work up to 3 tablespoons a day. don't use corn, canola,safflower,crisco or any other of those oils. use coconut oil for frying.
try Bragg's apple-cider vinegar on ur face b4 applying oil. then the hard part...a tablespoon or 2 daily. it taste yukky. i put mine in water. some mix it with honey. however u can get it down.

I have acne scars also... They arent that bad but you can really see them in bright light. I don't know of any cure to them other then surgery, and i've read thats not the best thing to do. I have a question regarding acne scars and women... I noticed alot of the posts on this thread had female icons, I take that some or maybe all of them are women, but then again maybe I'm just stupid... I want to know if this is really a big issue, i'm 21, i've never had a girlfriend my whole life, I watch what I eat, and I take extremely good care of my body as I have been doing for about 4 years now consistantly and this sticks out when I'm running on a daily basis, i'm 6'2 and I also have a nice tan... What I really want to know is why women look at me as if they're disgusted? I just don't get it, are acne scars my problem? I don't even have them that bad, and I wouldn't consider myself to be a bad looking guy... Without the scars that is. Please help me.

Vaseline would not clear up your acne but it could make it worse. I use Vaseline on my feet and hands before bed to moisturize them. If you need to moisturize your face use a facial moisturizer.
