What I mean is, if rudimentary hind limbs appear briefly in the embryos of whales and dolphins, doesn't that just mean that God is considering whether they should have legs?

Why should this simple fact of embryology be twisted around to serve as fodder for atheistic polemics?

If God is considering whether whales should have legs, that's his business. Leave it alone. Are all you church folks with me on this one?

Ya know, humans have rudimentary tails before they're born. And it doesn't matter if you believe in one of the many different kinds of Creationism or Evolution, some things just happen and us puny humans don't know exactally how to explain them. So we come up with ideas like Creationism and Evolution, both are which are valid theories and neither of which are provable or repeatable. so take your pick and don't go flaming others for not agreeing with you on a theory.

What does God do when he “considers” things? Does he like to watch tornadoes hurl mobile homes through the air as he “ponders” over a decision? Or, maybe he just likes to go to Hooters and have a few beers.

Whales and dolphins are mammals. They have many genetic similarities to other mammals like us. For one thing, they breathe air! It is not surprising then that their embrionic development is similar to other mammals during the early phases. i.e. the portion that corresponds to their common ancestry. That would be exactly what evolution would predict, and that is exactly what we observe.
