I think a pair of angel wings on the back would be awesome, but that wouldn't be small!
Whatever you decide on, try to make it a personal one. Think of it as getting something you would like to have, but don't have (or want more of like grace or courage). Then figure out what it would look like. Try to create a symbol or do an image search on the net for what you are looking for.
I have 5 tattoos and they all mean something to me. Each has a personal story connected to it-balance, a search for something holy and sacred, my commitment to my new family, etc. The more thought you put into choosing a tattoo, the happier you will be with it.

It really depends on your personality...
Try using one word that best describes you.
My friend designed a tattoo for her ankle that said 'lucky' in fancy font with a few stars around the outside.
Or perhaps your favourite animal?

How about an Ankh? It's not cutsie and everyone doesn't have one. Go online under ankh and it will show you different ones. It is the Egyptian symbol of eternal life.

get something small like a star or cherries or your first initial...just make sure you get something that has meaning to you so you can always think about that when you see it or when someone asks you why you got it
