I'm in a rough spot right now, I'm starting to open up about my BDSM tendencies and am in BDSM support groups to help me cope with them. It's very hard for me because the Church does not seem to have an official stance on BDSM and the many priests I have talked to don't even know what it is.

I would very much like to remain Catholic but don't know if the 2 worlds can co-exist. It's very hard because BDSM is still way to taboo and nobody really knows or wants to talk about it in the open. By the way, it's not as uncommon as most people think.

Is there any sources or info that i could go to to find other Catholics involved in the BDSM world or find anything on what the Church has to say about it?

I've been in the BDSM lifestyle for over 10 years and we are replete with Catholics and former Catholics. I don't see how it would contradict your beliefs as long as you aren't having sexual intercourse with your BDSM playmates, (or are only playing with your spouse)... I would suggest looking for articles on catholicism and BDSM on the web because due to the large number of catholics on the scene there should at least be a few...

You should try talking to a priest again and go in understanding that you'll have to explain what BDSM is and what questions you have about being Catholic at the same time being involved in BDSM. I imagine there will be some counseling to abandon BDSM for various reasons which will ultimately be said are based on Church teachings (I'm a cradle Catholic, but I'm not a Church scholar or into BDSM, so I'm only going by what I sense the Church's reaction would be).

But perhaps if you're comfortable enough with being both Catholic and into BDSM, you won't feel conflicted anyway, and there won't be an issue to deal with.

Wish you the best.

Look at it this way. What you do in the privacy of your home is your business and no one else.

Do what you think is right, if BDSM is something that you enjoy than continue doing it. Just remember to play with a DOM that will respect your limits and honor the safe word you have chosen.

I'm pretty sure the Catholic Church frowns upon bondage and sadomasochism.
I am also sure you are not the only Catholic with this interest.
I am neither BDSM or Catholic.

The only thing you're going to tie on me is a Louis Vuitton scarf.

I don't see a problem with it. Actually, the Catholic Church has a long history in BDSM.

LMAO. So, are you the one tying the person or the person getting tied? You can always say that you where helping deposes an innocent victim. like most other catholics in your predicament.

another blooming comedienne. its one thing to be a catholic but its another thing altogether to practice catholicism. it is not for you if you are not willing to TRUST what the Church teaches in His Name.

Technically no. The Catholics believe that sex should only be used for reproduction and only the missionary position should be used.
