Why do they knock on your door and hand out leaflets? I don't know of any other religion that does this!

Are you polite when they come to your home? I am but they are trying to get me into bible studies which i am not interested in, how do i tell them nicely?

They have been calling at my house for about two years and not once in this time have i let them in, or led them to believe i was going to join. What do i do?

Jesus commanded us at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. we are not converting anyone religion. that is between you and God Jehovah. if you are not interested just tell the witnesses to put your name on the door not call list. learn what Jehovah Witnesses are about at www.watchtower.org. also we are not a cult or brainwashed as many keep saying. a cult worships man. we worship Jehovah God. Jesus is the son of the Most Holy Father/ we are no soliciting, we are not selling like the boy scouts. we give free. what about the ones who stand in front of walmart or winn dixie ringing bells asking for money, that is soliciting. if you say you are jewish, so what. I was jewish before I became a Jehovah Witness/ we talk to everyone

The bible tells that the end will not come until all of the earth have the chance to know the truth. They are offering you studies because you sound interested. Just tell them that you enjoy reading the literature but do not wish to take a study.

If you wish to know the truth about the recent death of the young lady then please speak to somebody who knows the truth, and not believe some desperate newspaper's attempt at selling a story. The lady actually died from a heart condition, which is something that the sun 'forgot' to report. If any of you have questions about blood then the perfect time to ask is when witnesses call. You may well be surprised.

The ones who knock on your door genuinely believe they are about to save you from imminent death (Armageddon).

However the the governing body sees this door knocking as a way of recruiting more people into the Organisation and therefore more money will be donated to their already wealthy coffers.

Jesus did a work similiar to this and taught his followers to do the same. Before his ascension into heaven,Jesus commanded his followers to "make disciples of people of all the nations......teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you....."(Mat.28:19,20)
We do this work out of obedience and knowing that the end of this system is drawing ever closer,we do it out of love for mankind. There is a beautiful paradise with everlasting life in view to look forward to and we have to let people know.(Ps37:9-11,29)
We come back again and again because people's situations change - they move, get a change of heart due to a death in the family...many many reasons.
I personally am thankful for their persistance.I was not interested in their message for years, and now have been one of Jehovahs Witnesses for ten years and I thank Jehovah for his patience with me

It's amazing how many answers you received that try to encourage you to lie and about how they lied to Jehovah's Witnesses. They gave you bad advice because the bible tells us that God hates a liar. Jehovah's Witnesses take the commands of Jesus very seriously, that we should love our neighbor as ourselves and love God with our whole heart, soul, and mind. This means they also follow the command that Jesus gave to his followers found at Matthew 28:

19 "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age". So whether people listen or not, this work will be carried out and then the end will come.

Jesus disciples went from town to town and door to door doing just so. In Matthew 24:14, Jesus said that the good news of the kingdom would be preached in the entire inhabited earth, [first] and then the end will come. His disciples weren't learned men or clergy, but they were only fishermen and everyday kind of people.

Do you take the commands of Jesus seriously by reaching out in love to your neighbors to help them understand what Jesus meant by the Kingdom? If the kingdom of God is not important, why did Jesus in his example prayer pray for God's kingdom to come? Just how exactly are you serving God? James 4:17 tells us that if we know what is right and do not do it, it is a sin for us.

Jehovah's Witnesses want to help you draw closer to God and to encourage you to read the bible every day because they know that God's word is alive and has great power. In fact it is God's word that brings them to your door.

If you aren't interested in learng from the bible with the help of Jehovah's Witnesses, tell them that you don't want them to call on you any more and that you understand that they will honor your order. They won't come to your door for a few years, but then they will call again in case new people are living at your address or in case you might have had a change of heart. I hope this helps answer your question.

I agree totally with this previous comment.

Isn't it strange that the oposes of Jehovah are lier's.

Psalm 58:3-4 . . .''The wicked ones have been perverts from the womb; They have wandered about from the belly onward; They are speaking lies. The venom of theirs is like the venom of the serpent, Deaf like the cobra that stops up its ear,''

Yes the speech of a lier is like the venom of a cobra.
Think about that for a while , before taking the advice of the haters in here.

Because we believe that we are living in the last days referred to in the Bible. We feel that it is important for all of us to think about what the outcome of present conditions will be. There are wars, stabbings, child abuse and other things too. The question is what do we need to do to survive the end of this system? Any J.W can answer your questions.

Tell them firmly that you are not interested in their faith and that they make you uncomfortable by coming to your house. Or you could put up signs like "No Solicitors," "Beware of Dog," "No Trespassing," or "Day Sleeper." That works for some people. They worked for my aunt and a friend of mine.

If, by chance, signs don't work, you may have to get a bit rude. My family got sick of them coming around when I was 15. My parents ignored them, or they would answer the door and ask them to leave. But the last time they came knocking, I answered the door. I just stood there and dumbly looked at them as they said their piece. Then I called out, "Mom! Dad! Your human sacrifices are here!" They ran off of our porch as fast as they could. I know it was a very ignorant thing to do, but I was only 15. But, I'm 32 now, and no JWs have shown up at my parents' home since! lol!

If they would show up today, I would thank them for their concern, but I would tell them that I am happy in my own faith. Then, I'd shut the door before they could reply.

Good luck.

They are taught they must earn their Salvation ( entrance to heaven) through doing good works - and part of those good works involve knocking on doors. They receive points for every house they enter to raise them up on a scale - the more entries to ppls homes, the closer to heaven they believe they are.
If you don't want them to knock on your door - tell them so - they won't come back for a time - if you don't want to answer their questions - use the 'broken record technique' (example) every question they ask you say "your not interested" and keep saying it with every question. Be strong and don't let yourself be led by a cult/wrong teaching.
I always answer their questions - but I'm strong in my faith and knowledge of God - they usually give up after a few Q's - but if you are vulnerable - they will push until you show weakness.
Please, i ask you not to get involved - i speak from enough experience.
God Bless and guide you.

Are they coming to your door as friends? Or are they sales people peddling a religion you don't want? Treat them accordingly. Refute error, don't embrace it or give them any hint that you might.
