A simple "thank you" is fine.

You have to choose the best reponse for you. However, when you research this topic you will find that way back in the day, pwople thought that when you sneezed a part of your sould was escaping from your body. They were very suerstitous back then so they thought it was best to bless that part of you that was expelled, thus the phrase, "God bless you" was born. It has become the norm to continue with this custom. I have to wonder though, what gives someone the power to bestow a blessing from God? It is wrong for us to think we have that ability, yet the custom continues. It is I guess the easy thing to do. I sometimes will say it and sometimes I will not. Sometimes I will ask if they are OK? Felling well or something to that effect. We are simple minded to an extent, but if it is customary, then I guess a simple thank you is best.

You say "Thank you" because they're wishing you well. Whether you believe in God or not, they're being well meaning (if their saying "GOD bless you" is what your question was geared toward.)

I say: "thanks" and usually sneeze 2 more times at least. One God bless you is enough.
