Yes, they have to bathe them and turn them so they don't develop bed sores, etc. including changing their diapers.

Question #1: If not on ventilators, they are transferred with a lifter to a shower gurney and are given showers in the shower room. If they are vent-dependent, they get bed baths. If they are stable enough to be discharged to home and the family wishes to care for them, the family will have to work out their own arrangements. I would imagine, bed baths.
Question #2: Yes, they should and ordinarily do. If the patient is in a medical facility, that "someone" is a nurse aide. If at home, it might be a home health aide or a family member.
Unless a patient is in ICU, we nurses don't bathe patients.

YES!! They are given excellent skin care daily along with a schedule of being turned in bed, usually every one to two hours to preserve skin integrity and prevent bedsores. Also, most times special mattresses are ordered that reduce pressure and also help to prevent harm. We can never truly know what the comatose patient is experiencing so it is SO SO important to treat them as we ourselves would like to be treated!!
Edit: The person who provides the physical care can be a nurses aide, an LPN or an RN, depending on the care delivery system of the facility.

Yes, if they didnt they would develop infections, and bed sores.
Even people in coma need to be kept cleaned and taken care of.

Yes they give them baths if not they would rot. But it wouldn't be a nurse . It would be a aide who takes care of that.

Yes. Generally they are 'sponge baths'. Basically they use like a washcloth and a bowl of water, or special wipes.
