I got a shock when i came home yesterday late at night. Mum says that the white guinea pig has been at the hidey house all day, so i took away the hidey house to look at both of them(white and brown). To my horror, it's head and part of it's body were stuck to the toilet roll! It walked a limped a little bit slowly after i took it out, and it's ears were read. Should i go to the vet?? What else should i do??

Dear Hannah,
I have a guinea pig too and he is about a year and half. I have gave him toilet roll to play or chew, but he never tried to go inside of toilet roll. Your piggies are must be still baby to go into the toilet roll.
Keep his/her ears clean and keep your eyes on him/her. If he/she does not look normal next week, then contact the small animal vet.
Don't give the toilet rolls to them any more, instead give them empty boxes that big enough to them to hide.
They love to hide. Take care!

I'd wait a day and see if it' better on it's own. Once my pet duck was limping. I took it to a vet that specialized in birds. They recommended bone surgery. Her little heart stopped beating because of the anesthesia, so they revived her and did not continue with the surgery. When I came to pick her up, I asked what should I do since they could not operate.
Then (and only then) they suggested cage rest might help mend it by keeping her inactive). I was a little ticked off that they had failed to mention this before I had agreed to try the $400.00 surgery that was suggested.
Sure enough, after some cage rest she could walk again! I could have saved a trip to the vet, had I known she might get better on her own.
Check to see if your guinea pig eats food etc. She probably had red ears from being stuck and struggling all day. Just let her rest.

That's odd. I'm sorry but when I read the title of your question I had laughed not knowing it was serious =( I'd wait on the vet. Anything will be sore after being stuck on a toilet roll. I'd give the poor thing a day or two, and if it still doesn't recover I would take it in. I think it should be fine though. <3 <3 <3

I know this is terrible to say but that is hilarious. I wouldve screamed with shock if i saw my guinea pigs like that though. Take it to the vet to get it checked out. How would you feel if you got stuck in a toilet roll all day.

Give it a couple of days, it might just be sore and going to the vets could mean spending unnessisary money, but if it dont go down then deffo take it to the vets.

go to English class more often then call the vet. How did your guinea pig get stuck in the toilet roll anyway? was he trained to wipe and flush?

Sorry about that. You might call first, just might get reassurance over the phone.
