When you have animals in your home a bottle of Bach Rescue Remedy should be the #1 item in your medicine chest.

It can be used on ALL animals for shock, trauma, injury - it covers many things.

You can get a bottle of that from a health foods store. You can put drops on a bird's feathers and in its drinking water. Put drops on the fur of a cat or dog (it can go in a dog's drinking water too).

I hope the bird will recover well and get some RR for any future problems.

If you get some from a health food store tomorrow it wouldn't hurt to put some on the bird tomorrow and for a few days thereafter.

The bottle will go a long way and stay in the medicine chest for years and still be useful.

If your cat grabbed the bird the possibility of injuries you cannot see (under feathers) is there.

Remember, one bite or scratch from a cat can be deadly to birds. And birds most often do not show signs of weakness/illness unless it is REALLY bad.

Cat mouths/nails contain bacteria that will kill a bird, and quickly. He is showing signs of shock, and possible injury. Check him over THOROUGHLY and if you find ANY open wounds he needs to see a vet sooner than immediately.

Keep him warm but not hot. Try covering a portion of his cage for a sense of security if you've not done so already. Monitor his food intake, water intake, and his poops.

Just keep an eye on your bird, put it in a quiet place and keep an eye on it. Or even go and lock your cat up and then take out the bird and hold it, if it gets worse you need to take your bird to the vet.

Make sure the bird is warm and has some solitude, but I'd call a bird specialist and consult with them on the phone. Have you tried some of the bird bulletin boards?
