You are right in calling atheism a religion. They believe other beliefs are wrong/misguided, they have faith in evolution, and atheists place faith in themselves as the highest order of evolution, making themselves gods, capable of defining a moral standard, knowing right from wrong. Belief and faith in the power of science/technology lends them authority to declare what they know is the truth and absolute truth, and they believe it with the same fervency as the religious fanatic. Truly a religion.

Atheism is not a religion but a belief that there is no God as defined by the various religious belief systems that God created man, heaven, earth etc.
Atheist can be spiritual and believe that their dogs or other pets have a soul. Try and look at the belief systems in India for instance if you would like to learn more.

Atheism is not a religion and as a non-religion it teaches nothing.
We either don't believe there is a god or we have seen no evidence to indicate there is one. And, there may be other postures I am not aware of. You see, unlike Baptist we don't all believe the same thing. There are as many different types of Atheists as there are religions.
Personally, I would love to see REAL evidence. I would love to know someone is driving this runaway train, but so far nothing that would stand-up in civil court, let alone a criminal proceedings.
You apparently have faith, that is a wonderful thing I suppose. The problem as I see it is that those with faith believe impossible things. My wife is a Bible Thumper, she thinks the planet is less than 11,000 years old. That is ludicrous and anyone with the ability to think for themselves would know it.

Why do you think dogs are somehow less worthy of good treatment than people?
Aside from the fact that atheism is not a religion, and states no such thing.

Atheism doesn't "teach" anything. It is not a religion.
And who are you to say dogs have no souls?
