3 types of Marines,
Those going to Okinawa, Those there, and Those coming back. You can request it, but don't hold your breath. The number of Marines stationed there is relatively small in comparison with the numbers at Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendelton, and Okinawa. If your a winger there is a better chance.

Yeah, we all want to be stationed in Hawaii. But since 90% of the need for troops is in Iraq, there's an incredibly high chance that you'll be stationed there instead, no matter what they might promise you when you sign up.

it'd be pretty fun if you got stationed there in Kane'ohe, O'ahu, Hawaii. There's a mall close by and a 24 hour fitness. woooh. everything you need and want.

You can ask for it but, in all probability, they'll give you something else. Then again, you might get lucky.
Your choice for duty station also depends on your MOS and other factors.

The Marine Corps could care less if your entire family lives there. They will send you where they need you to fill a slot, if that place is Hawaii then so be it.. MCB HAWAII, HOME OF THE 3RD MARINE REGIMENT LAVA DOGS
