It's supposed to be a Christian holiday, yet Non-Christians celebrate it. Why is this?

First of all, chrisitians stole the holiday from Pagans to get them to convert.

Second, I don't celebrate the Christmas you celebrate. I celebrate being alive and healthy with my family. Also, presents and Santa Claus =)

In America, at least, there's two Christmases (apart from Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, etc.). There's the actual Christian holiday with churches, manger displays, Saint Nicholas, three wise men, etc. Then there's the secular/pagan holiday with Christmas trees, Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman, egg nog, etc.

Many different cultures have some sort of mid-winter or solstice celebration when the days are near their shortest. Lot of non-practicing Christians as well as non-Christians have some sort of secular Christmas celebration simply because it's a good way to get together with family and friends...

Young man,
It was actually NOT a Christian Holiday but a pagan holiday that was adopted by the Catholics in an attempt to bring them into their Church. Christmas is never mentioned in the Bible. Christ's Birth was never celebrated according to the Bible. HIS Death, Burial, Resurrection, and ascension is remembered every LORDS DAY as it was in the First Century Church according to the Apostle Paul. We call it the LORD'S SUPPER. Have a wonderful evening and a glorious week.
Thanks,
Eds

It was a pagan holiday long before it was a Christian holiday.

In fact, the Bible specifically forbids participating in rituals of pagan origin.

So the question isn't -- Why do non-Christians celebrate it, it's, why do Christians celebrate it when doing so is a sin according to the Bible, abomination even?

Once again - Christmas was originally a pagan holiday. Most pagans and heathens celebrate the holiday of Yule, the Winter Solstice. Lit trees, presents, Yule log, decorations, exchange of gifts, mistletoe, virgin birth of a savior god - all pagan

Maybe, as a Christian, you should look up the history of Christmas and ask yourself why you, as a Christian, celebrate it.

Why wouldn't they?
It is a pagan celebration, after all. If you are a true Christian, you would follow God's word, the Holy Bible, and quit being fashioned after this worldly system of things.

Puritans who were very strict Christians banned Christmas when they ruled the UK as it is a non-Christian festical. So the question is why do you as a Christian celebrate it ?
and why are you a Christian other than because your ancestor was enslaved by a Christian and forcibly converted on pain of death?

Christmas is a holiday that was hijacked by the Christian church from the pagans because they couldn't get the people to stop celebrating it.

Then it was called Yule, and pagans today still call it that.
