my playstation 3 controller may have a problem
although it is brand new
i know the PS BUtton in the middle is suppost to light up red
why doesnt it do that
i have 40gb

no the ps button in the middle is not supposed to light up red.... the ones that are supposed to light up red are the controller indicator numbers near the L1 and L2 buttons.....
the purpose of those numbers is to indicate which player you are (player 1, player 2, etc.) the light is there to indicate whether or not your ps3 is on.....

Even though you may see pictures with the PS3 controller PS button glowing red, it doesn't glow at all. When I first got my PS3 a while back, I thought the same thing, but I found out that it doesn't glow a long while ago.

No, it's just an ad trick from Sony. It doesn't glow at all. You can do it yourself by installing red diod (if you know electronics, it's not complicated).

4 red lights on controller blinking all the time
