There's about 5000 rumors about me at school, everything from i'm a lesbian to i have sex with guys for money. It's all because i "flirt" with peoples bf's supposevely? so, all these girls started it. i'm not sure why.. if i flirt i'm just being nice and nothing bad just all friendly conversation. I've been okay until now, it really upsets me and walking down the hallways is no fun, getting called a whore 24/7 is not fun either

What should i do? I've already tried confronting the girls..

OMG!!! WHY DO YOU LISTEN TO THEM?!?!
If you keep reacting, then they'll just keep bothering you!!! Heck, look at me. I got the same situation before, although I don't flirt. They love seeing you react and act annoyed. They love to see you suffer. They are just jealous because you because you can get a guy good. Did you tell a friend like parents or something? If not, do that. Ignore people's attacks on you. Act like they don't even exist. What I do is think of something that I like alot while people talk about me or something. When you are happy, no one can bother you. If they even try to touch you, you scream to the top of your lungs, "Leave me alone!" I have been poked by this one girl for a few days, and shouting at her stopped that. When you do scream at them, after that, well, I feel so glad and superior for what I did. Now I'm friends with her. But you won't always make friends. If they dare to hurt you, hit them back.
Call me crazy, but if you were getting hurt, let's
say in an alley, would you hit back. School rules are messed up, but this is for self defense. Anyway, hope for the best for you!

I went through this same thing - for the same reason! Some things never change! Well, I would say ignore it but that is impossible. I did all I could to make friends with a few of them - I really went out of my way to get just any of them on my side, to show them that I'm not horrible. It worked after about 3 months, once you get one (even if it's not the main rumor starter) they will eventually stop on their own. Just remember how this feels - so you never do it to anyone.

Calm down the flirtations, obviously. This would disprove unsavory rumors.

However, stopping rumors is something that you cannot do, no matter how or why they are floating. People are going to talk and if you have given someone a reason (justified or not) than they will run with it until it has lost any fuel that has been feeding it.

Thus, the suggestion that you slow down on the flirtation -- even if you think it is innocent. Apparently, there are those around you that don't agree with you.

There will always be someone talking sh*t about you. It does not change after high school. You need to be comfortable with who you are and not worry about what other people think and say. Easier said than done, I know. As long as your family and close friends know the truth, what else really matters. Life is too short to let other people control how you feel. Ignore the bitches as best you can. Now, having said that, what use to work for me was to smile and say, very pleasantly, "F**k you". Like you were saying "have a nice day!". It really tweaks them off!

The best line of defense is to not let them know it bothers you. You know what you have and haven't done, and if you did flirt outrageously with other girls bf's that is going to land you in hot water. I would apologize, but I will tell you this, if any of them suddenly start acting like they want to befriend you, watch out, some girls are cruel and could be planning to hurt you.

Situations like that remind me of poor Shanda Shearer. A 12 or 13 year old girl who was murdered in Indiana, 4 girls set her on fire and beat her to death over a lesbian disagreement, so be very careful hun!

Good luck

Ignore them! Be yourself, and if any situation comes up that you get a chance to refute the rumors, then by all means, SPEAK UP. Otherwise, they don't really warrant any comment. The reason they are making up these rumors is that they are jealous.

But while you're at it, evaluate YOUR OWN behavior and MODIFY it if you feel that it is YOUR BEHAVIOR that causes people to talk smack. You can be nice, popular, kind to others and not "flirt." If you do that too much or take it too far, you WILL look like a tramp, even if you're not. So if you want rumors to change, modify your behavior and the comments will soon cease.

Best of luck to you!!!

ignore it they will find someone else to hassle. Are you interested in anyone? Is he interested in you when you get a boyfriend they will leave you alone. Girl clicks can be so hurtful. Usually it comes from some hidden jealousy. Just try to stay away from them. try to find or start someting that other people will get involved in too. A penny drive for homeless. Work for the yearbook staff work on decorating the halls for the big game etc. Reading with younger kids. Volunteer soon there attentions will be on some other poor sole.

The WORST thing you can do is confront them. It shows they are getting to you. It may be difficult, just ignore them. That's the problem with girls/women, they can be evil.

If you know they aren't true, BLOW IT OFF. That's what guys do.

As for someone calling you a whore, go report them to whomever is in charge of harassment and bullying. All schools have someone now. The ones doing it are jealous. Like I said, girls can be mean.

People will think and say what they want to anyway. I found the best way to deal was to neither confirm nor deny any rumors. Eventually people will give up trying to spread rumors if they find you're not easily rattled.

I heard the same thing in high school and that was how I was successfully able to deal.

i have to deal with rumors a lot too because i'm not very popular but it happens to everyone, that's how life is. Just don't listen to what people say and in a little bit, a new rumor will come and no one will remember the one spread about you. Another option is to stand up for yourself and don't let people walk all over you, show them that you don't care and they will lose interest. good luck
