Hi people. I'm looking for a new center channel speaker to replace an Onkyo with blown tweeters. I recently bought some floorstanding JBL's (Mains) and they did not dissapoint. I'm looking to spend under $200. Around $100 would be nice though.

Here is a few I had in mind:

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. If you want a better center channel then you should replace your main left and right speakers to match the center.Ideally the center speaker should be the same as your main stereo speakers, that is 3 identical speakers.Another way is to leave the center speaker out and force the dialogue to the front left and right speakers; If you sit exactly in the center of the stereo speakers, dialog will appear to come from the center.and it will actually sound a lot clearer.Actually this is the preferred way.You dont have to buy a center speaker.

EDIT.....Thumbs down for every answer(so far ) Very strange because they are all good common sense answers. What is going on?

The center one produces the best and loudest sound while the rear speakers are used for background noises and have a lower volume. Ex. footsteps coming into a room, thundestorms in the distance, mostly added effects to feel the surround sound.

The only center speaker you should consider is the one that matches those JBL Left and right towers.

You want the sounds as they pan across the speakers to tone-match to enforce the illusion that the sounds are moving.

Using a mix of different speakers will mess things up.

Get the matching center from JBL.

Try to find a JBL center within the same series as your mains. This will match your system the best.

The link below is what I have at home here. It's the best money can buy. There is no way to describe how it sounds except that it's simply the best.

blown tweeters, eh? sounds like you need a more powerful amp that doesn't clip so soon.
