1. Should they be sexually active if they don't know?
2. Why do people waste time answering?
I am asking this because I do a lot of voluteer work with abandoned children and it is sad how society condones the behaviors of immature girls sleeping around.

If you are a married adult who is fiancially responsible to have children the question does not pertain to you im looking for views not self defense retaliations. You should be talking to an OB/GYN not yahoo answers anyway. The problem is out there girls have no respect for their bodies or our tax dollars I see 2 beautiful babies everyday who were left in dumpsters I think I have earned the right to have an opinion and ask a question idk the first 10 people agreed and were not defensive at all.

I take it you are not sexually active, then, or YOU would know that you can't get a true reading on a pregnancy test right away. With that said, you don't just stop wondering if you are or not, so you ask people's opinions. Get over it ~ and don't answer the questions if you don't like them.
**Okay. We are all entitled to opinions, right? So I gave mine. You sound mighty defensive to me, though.

The problem is that society puts too much emphasis on abstinence instead of teaching kids proper safe sex methods. When I was in high school five years ago all we heard was "don't have sex" and that was it so it was no wonder that nearly 10% of my graduating class got pregnant in high school or immediately afterwards.
I DO believe that people should wait until sex to have married but the reality is that most people don't and we should really address the majority.
In this day and age, people should be more scared of an incurable STD than an unwanted pregnancy. STDs are very common but people still think they are immune just because they don't sleep around or because they're in a monogamous relationship (some STDs, like HPV, can lay dormant in the body for years while other STDs have no symptoms).

I also agree..that there are too many people out there asking if they are pregnant. Most of the time they are asking how they should tell their parents...but the ones about am I pregnant? I mean "we don't know"...how could we??? I agree that we should be here to talk to them after they find out...but the fact of if they are pregnant, the should find out before they start posting questions.
My sister got pregnant when she was 17, and i know it's hard. I answer the questions to help them understand that they can do it. I mean, yeah people make mistakes, which I completely agree that sex shouldn't be just a random thing you do with a guy at a bar...or with some guy from school that you think is cute...IT's more important, and they will eventually realize that. But most of the time it's not their fault. They may have been brought up differently than you and I.
But sometimes they need the reassurance of someone telling them it's going to be okay. With me going through and explaining to young girls' that there are ways for them to get through this...and enjoy their child instead of it just being a hindrance. But I think you should try to help them, instead of condeming them. Then maybe there wouldn't be so many girl's out there dropping their babies in dumpsters becuase they are scared. They just need the comfort.
Again, I stress that I don't approve of what they are doing...and I hate that we have to pay for their mistakes literally...but I mean...if we didn't who would? No one. and there wouldn't be that beautiful baby that is helpless in the whole situation.
I just wish that the ones who do get help from the government would appreciate it. I wish these parents would grow up and take care of their child. I would take any ones child before they decided to have an abortion or killed it after it was born anyday. People who dump their kids in trash cans and leave them behind trees in parks, are absolutely selfish people. They take the time, to make that baby and its theirs...then they leave that baby for dead...It's awful and I wish we could have talked to them on Yahoo Answers before they made the decision to get rid of their baby...... Sorry if everything I said isn't what you want to hear...but sometimes we just have to give more than ususal to make a better world!!!

Well.. restoring your faith is one thing. But yes its an epidemic. I don't know if they're doing this to be immature and get a reaction from people, or if its guys putting this on there to see what people say, or what is exactly happening. Its drove me so nuts thinking this is happening to all these kids that i actually sat down and researched this topic. Apparently it does happen, and its sickening. I don't think that it is happening in such biblical proportions, it could be a lot of the same kids posting the same question constantly under different identities. If you notice by clicking on their avatar you will see that they all got like 100 points or so... they're just messing with people I think. I waste my time answering because sometimes, in case it isn't some kid messing around I hope I can help them in some way.. by letting them know to tell a parent and get help. Too many kids today are sexually active and something really needs to be re-thought about where society is going.

Even though there are many factors to blame such as the girl, the boy, their parents, society, things can get pretty scary when we are alone and in trouble and that is most of the time the case. But you are correct in the statement of society condoning this behavior. But everyone is entitled to ask what they want no matter how stupid or trivial it sounds. They are free to. That's the beauty of yahoo answers. Maybe it will be you or yours one day. God forbid it would be. Will you then look back to your question and see how she is feeling. Bad stuff happen to all of us.
We all play a part in society and contribute one thing or another even when we don't will to.

They ask 10X a day because society condones the behaviors of immature girls sleeping around.
1. No
2. Because someday one of them, just one of them might read the stupid post and actually stop what they are doing.
Actually society does not condone the behaviors of immature girls sleeping around. What it condones is parents not being active enough in their children's lives to stop the behavior before it starts. Society then sits here on YA! and tries to stop what has already started....
When society decides that a parent is responsible for a child (and is held accountable for the child), parents will have to step up or face the consequences, but since todays world says that the child is accountable to themselves and being children have no accountability, we get to instead answer the "am I pregnant" questions ..... and I really thing its far more then 10X a day.

If they are sexually active without protection then they have chances to be pregnant. People that answers those question are so dumb...unless they are a doctor they can't make a diagnosis. It would take less time to get a pregnancy test at the drug store then waiting for the right answer!!!
And it is horrible that society thinks excessive sex is normal, and you can't find anything that doesn't involve sex or use sex to advertise.
And its great that you work with abandoned children!!!

Maybe people answer because they feel like they can help someone. Isn't that part of the reason there's a Y!A to begin with???
Answering a question does not mean that you condone something. Why pass my judgement on someone, and besides isn't it a little "monday morning quarterback" to chastise some young girl for making a mistake. Its not like she can take it back!!!

Why did you answer to those? People ask the question to get an overall feel of what other think because that person feels they are pregnant. They aren't just girls sleeping around you need to rethink as few things jmfl19@yahoo.com

I think a lot of these KIDS are asking these questions for kicks. I don't doubt that some of these misguided teens are pregnant, however the statistics show that teen pregnancies have been declining over the years. So I guess "SOME" parents are talking to their kids.
