I mean one where you see them take the pig out of the pit? And does the cruise ship make the reservation?

I'm sure you can fit a luau into your schedule as long as you schedule yourself for shore excursions.

If you can't fit it into your cruise schedule, I would suggest spending a few nights here in Hawaii on land and plan for it accordingly if it's that important to you.

Good luck, happy cruising, and happy travels!

for the cruise ship to make the reservations for you, it may depend. what cruise line are you traveling on? if they are based in hawaii they will be able to. Norwegian Cruise Line America has 2 7day cruises and 1 10 day cruise. for the luau, the best one would be Paradise Cove. they show you everything from making the pig to catching fish etc etc. there are other options such as Polynesian Culture Center and Germaines Luau. hope you find the right luau for you!!!

if you go to Kauai there is a luau called Luau Kalamaku.

You should have some overnight stops on your cruise, so yes, I think you can go to a luau. The concierge on your ship can probably make reservations for you or you can do it on your own. I live in Hawaii and have been to a few different luau, so if you want to tell me which island you're interested in, I can probably help you with sources so you can book it yourself and save the expense of using the ship's concierge. No, I am not a travel agent and I don't get kickbacks for offering this. I just thought I'd help. :) Email me if you are interested.
PS - I haven't been to it, but I hear the Royal Lahaina Luau on Maui is one of the most authentic.
