Call your doc about what they think you can take - everyone's doc different.

But I caught a cold about 9 weeks and here's what I did that didn't involved meds and totally helped.

Lots of water and rest of course. Also, sweat it out. Blankets, sweats and such. Just bundle yourself up - you've probably got the chills anyway. But the BEST thing that work was steaming my face. I put some hot water in a bowl, stuck a towel over my head, then just sat there for a while. It cleared me up after a while and it felt great. I got really into it eventually and started to pamper myself and put a facial mask on while I was steaming to make be feel better. The other thing I did was for coughs - it doesn't last long, but it helps. Mix a 1/4 c of honey with 1/4 c of apple cider vinager. Not the best tasting, but helps if you don't want to take robutussin.

You should not take any medicines without checking with your doctor first. Some cold medicines can harm the baby. Drink lots of fluids and have chicken soup. The heat of the soup will ease congention naturally. If you have a fever, call the doctor.

talk to your dr. I am 13 weeks and actually just got over my cold. I thought i was goin to be miserable, cuz ususally when i get sick, i get really sick. But i made sure that I drank a lot of water, and got enough sleep, and I also made sure that I stayed warm, and i was actually only sick for 3 or 4 days, and never really started caughing or anything too bad, I was really surprised. Just listen to your body, some women refuse to take any type of medicine because it goes to the baby, but whatever your dr says is ok, go ahead and take if you feel comfortable, otherwise like i said listen to your body.

I understand what you're going through I never even took tylenol while I was pregnant.I'd ask your OB what is ok to take but still go with your gut if you don't want to take anything.Just make sure you drink lots of orange juice and make sure you're eating a really healthy diet (and of course taking your prenatal vitamins) and it should pass quickly.Congrats and Good luck:)

You can't sweetie. You can't take any medication at all until 12 weeks. Baby's development is at too critical a stage. Check with your dr., but this is the way it was back when.
