Ok, I've tried squirting her, clapping my hands, and even making really loud noises when she gets on the table and NONE of it works! When I squirt her she normaly jumps down and runs away but is back on in a matter of minutes. When we leave the house we keep the cats in another room so they don't get into trouble, but for some reason the kitten still thinks its OK to get on the table. Help would be very much appriciated. She really enjoys the sound of crinkling things, such as aluminum foil as well, so I'm relitivly certain that wouldn't work either.

You've tried tin foil and using a spray bottle? Usually those work the best... Crinkle up the tin foil and lay in on the table, i've also heard of using bubble wrap. Usually they don't like the way they feel on their paws so cats won't step on it. I personally use a water bottle on the stream setting and I just say a stearn NO and spray mine. To be honest though my other cat knows no boundries. He doesn't listen, he does whatever and goes wherever he wants. I've tried everything with him, if he didn't have such a great personality i woulda beat him by now, lol. So good luck, hopefully you can break the habit before she gets older.

You're never going to keep the cat off the table. Even the older ones probably go up there when you're out, they have just learned not to do it when you're there. Or they're too lazy. Basically you have to keep up the negative reinforcement until the kitten understands. But it's possible that she just won't get it. We have a cat now that simply does not have the attention span to learn anything much. He was climbing the french door to my office, I had to shove the door open and send him flying every time for a couple of months before he got the idea. Just don't resort to pain too quickly, some cats will simply withdraw and avoid human contact, that doesn't make for a good pet.

We don't worry about it. Before we eat, I clean the table top. We have an inside dog, who would eat all of the cat food, if it were left on the floor, so the table top is where we feed the cats! So............they eat at the same table we do, just at a different time. It's not THAT much trouble to wash off the table before eating on it, so why worry......Life's too short, and the cats are too much fun to make a big "thing" out of little things.

This sounds weird, but I've had some clients tell me it really works. They take double sided sticky tape (or single sided rolled in a loop) and put it around the table where she more than likely is jumping onto. They hate things stuck to their feet, and she should quickly jump down. It's an inconvienence, but I've had others swear by it working.

Well, my mom used little tacs and she would gule them to a piece of cardbroad and put them on areas, she didn't want the cats on. You only have to do it once and they never get on the area again. It really works and no, it doesn't hurt the cat very much.

I have had the same problem
Buy the plastic runners for carpets that have the little 'picks' on the underside, and put it on your table...countertop, wherever she/he is jumping, BUT put it upside down, so when he/she jumps up, her paws will touch the little picks, and thus she will jump down quite fast! Works for me!
Good Luck!

Just stay on top of it....Not the table lol...but I mean cosistant. Every time she does it IMMEDIATELY squirt her with water. It will work eventually....They are like Kids..lol you must be consistant and dont give up!!

you just have to be patient and keep lifting her off the table until she realises it's no use. if my cat does it repeatedly while i'm eating she gets put outside til i finish! if it's a dining table tuck the chairs in so she can't use them to jump up.

i used to line books around the table, just hanging off the edge. so when my cat jumped up, he landed on the book and fell off the table. scared him out of it.

good luck.
