No. I don't feel 'justified' because I am religious, but you're right about feeling comforted when I think of all that I don't understand. But there is more: I do understand that there is a force greater than I in the universe, and that this force is the Creator. I do believe in Science, in evolution, in the dinosaurs, and the geological history of the earth. The difference between what I believe and in what some other Christians believe is that I believe God is the one behind it all. I feel so loved that He gave His only begotten Son to die for me so that I do not ever have to be separated from Him.
Justified? No, not really. Comforted, yes. Loved, yes.

I do feel more comforted in believing that this isn't going to be the end. I don't want all of my love and happiness to be done when I die. As for what is incomprehendible, I'll just leave that for the scientistst to figure out.

I feel more justified because in Christ, I am justified, not because I'm a good person or do good things, but because Jesus is perfect and he was offered as a sacrifice in my place.
But these are all things that belong in the spiritual realm. You wouldn't have a single clue about this stuff, so you should go back and read a good book and just forget about the depth of Gods love. It's just to great for you.
Besides, it is written that the information concerning this spiritual sacrifice on your behalf is a real stumbling block to those who are separated from God. Only those who have accepted what God has offered, can truly understand.

I don't know about justified - but comforted yes. All I know is that there is a Heaven and a Hell - I am for sure going to make sure that I am going to Heaven. By accepting God in my heart and knowing that He died for my sins, I know I'm going to Heaven. Life is just the stepping stones to getting where we're supposed to be in the end. For me, I know that being Religious and accepting God in my heart is what it takes to lead me down the right path. Knowing this is very comforting for me. However, everyone has their own idea - we all have to figure out this thing called life - where is your life leading you?

I feel justified in imposing my morals on other people and demanding that my government's laws assure that this happens. And, if anyone disagrees with my religion, I also feel justified in condemning them, because they are just wrong on so many levels that my own religon, clearly, is not.
I am comforted in knowing that I am God's servant in life, and, after death, I will be his sycophant for eternity. I cannot describe how much meaning this gives to my life.

In my opinion, God is a concept, a concept of what we cannot understand.Muslims believe in Mohamed, Jews in Moises and Mormons in Joseph Smith. They're all just a way to fill up that emptiness that we all feel when we ask ourselves:Where did we come from? Why are we here? What is the meaning of life?
We do not have an answer to all of this questions so we try to fill that emptiness with religion, which is not a bad thing, it's just a basic human necessity, the necessity to know.
So yeah, it really is.

INCOMPREHENSIBLE is the correct spelling. And i get the impression that you are directing your question towards the current attitude of the american christian. They are taught 'abundance' and self righteousness by wolves in sheeps clothing who appeal to THIER racist, prejudice, me me me attitude. "Im american, im christian and God is on MY side" I too see this and its as bad an extreme as any jihadist or what the american news media paints as muslim extremeist. Its basically saying "we have the right to bomb and kill in the name of our god" And the second part of your question also seems to fulfil an empty need - ignorance. This is where mythology and the phrase old wives tales comes from-the lack of actual knowledge. What you dont know you make up. Make it sound and juicy and people will buy it because they dont know and are too lazy to find out for themselves. So because you cant comprehend it you hide in 'religion' and blame it on some god rather than seek understanding for yourself.
PS. Anyone doesn't agree with the first part of this answer go watch Christian Amanpour on CNN-"God's Warriors" She interviewed american christians and the self righteous, we're american so therefore god is on our side bs was thick enough to cut with a knife. Sickening bunch.
