Aldara is is not meant for common warts. It's VERY strong and it's used to treat skin growths like actinic keratoses or skin cancer (superficial basal cell carcinoma [sBCC]). It may also be used to treat external genital and perianal warts. Using Aldara is very specific--your doctor has to tell you how often you can use it. If you have a common wart on your hand/finger, you really need to use the correct medication meant for that. Here is a good site about common warts---how you get them and what to use in treating them:

You're not a loser. Sex doesn't make you a better or worse person. It's not an STD, if you haven't had sexual contact. The penis, like any skin on the body can get a wart, pimple, ingrown hair or other skin problem without its necessarily being sexually-related. You need to see a urologist or dermatologist. Although some genital warts are sexually-transmitted, warts can happen on any part of the body without sexual contact, if it is indeed a wart. Yes, it's embarrassing, but you don't see your doctor socially, so they're there to help with any problem on any part of the body, and aren't there to judge you. Good luck to you.

I don't see that as being a normal use for aldara. It's used for genital warts but it says nothing about using it on warts on the rest of the body.

Here is a silly, amusing solution that actually works.

Tape a thin slice of garlic under a bandage on your finger, leave on or change as needed. The wart will turn black and come off in just a few days.

I read it an tried it on my Granddaughters finger and it worked.
