Ahhh, Yes! Abundant fruit trees in the Mesopotamian desert.

I can see it now, No! Wait, there aren't any fruit trees as we know them in Mesopotamia. Well, they had dates but then the bible doesn't mention them ...do it?

The English wrote the bible you think is so old; the English have....apples! Hummmm! Could the fruit have been....an apple?

Nowhere does the Bible mention what fruit it was. Anyone that tells you a specific fruit is lying. The only thing it says is a fruit from a tree, not bush or vine.

The Bible never specified the fruit. Some people have said the Apple and some have said the Pomegranate.

The Bible does not say. Just the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

No one really knows. Some say the pomegranate, some say it was the cherry, some say it was an apple.

Personally I hope it wasn't the pomegranate; while it's full of antioxidants and stuff, it's harder than the dickens to peel and eat those little seedy things.

They were forbidden to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Gen. 2:16 "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Gen. 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof, dying, thou shalt die."
