well it depends on the parents. see maybe parents dont trust yet their girls to date because they might seem iresponsible in their eyes and since its a young age most likely you dont know how most guys think and really the only thing they want right now is sex. basicly they dont want you to end up pregnant.
bottom line: I think parents just have more things to worry about a girl than a guy.

Its a double standard but life is full of them, some advantageous for women, some like this one for men.
Why is it like that, up until very recently in human history the consequences for a woman (pregnancy) were far greater than for a guy. Now with ways to prove who the father is to an almost certainty, the guys have as well of a risk.

it's because parent's don't really care if their son goes out and gets in trouble, but girls parents actually care about them. jk
i really don't know but i've always wondered that too.

double standard....as you'll see in many aspects of life
