It will happen, mark my words, it will happen. From the time when literacy rates started to increase and people actually began to read the bible instead of having it read to them, the realization of the bibles absurdity has been steadily growing. As it stands now, people with a too literal interpretation of the bible are shunned and avoided even by those who call themselves average Christians. These same Christians are teaching their children the dangers of being fundamentalist in their approach to religion.

The bible is what made Christianity what it is. Some 2000 years ago when Christianity was in competition with older religious beliefs, the fact that this new religion had the backing of a written text unlike the older traditions which were kept alive by a largely oral basis meant that Christianity had a much easier inception. So the bible gave Christianity its power to influence, without the bible, what happens to Christianity?

The problem in the US is, I think our culture is becoming post-literate. Christianity survives as an oral tradition passed from parents to children, it gets enforced by the church community, and the Bible is something believers claim to read and understand when they really haven't understood or even read it. Unless someone translates the absurdities of the Bible into modern language, in comic book form, Christians in the US will never see the contradictions.

Could you please provide some statistics to back up your opinions?

1. Prove that those who call themselves average Christians shun those who take The Bible literally.

2. Prove that average Christians teach their children the dangers of Fundamentalism.

3. Prove the The Bible will be considered "meaningless gibberrish but everyone."

4. Prove that the "realization of the Bible's absurdity" has been steadily growing. (Do you have a line graph that we might see?)

I'm sure you have this proof, for, as an atheist, you never say anything unless you have concrete proof, statistics, percentages, etc.

I'll look forward to seeing yours.

Literacy rates have been increasing steadily since the dawn of public education, and yet the Bible is still here.

The scenario you predict is not an original prediction. But 2000 years of time is probably proof that your prediction is not going to happen.

Your theory is further flawed, in that the earliest days of Christianity were when the most people were probably illiterate, and yet still became believers, even though they couldn't read the very book you claim gave the religion its power.

Flawed argument from you yet again. What a surprise!

nicely remeber the bible is plenty approximately interpretations and seven days may be a metaphor for 7 a protracted time I heard someplace that a million 2nd for God is almost a century for guy so it may make sence 7 days if we communicate of godly time additionally remember we dont comprehend plenty approximately time so it would desire to be in straightforward terms an phantasm so earth in 7 days isn't without arguments, As for the different mythologies nicely Zeus on no account made miracles and if he "did" have been mbiguous issues like a temple not destroyed in the process an erthquake etc. yet in christ we've seen genuine miracles, sanations in seconds from irreversible ailment that could desire to take years in the event that they have been treatable, apparitions, supernatural feats only after a prayer etc. God has confirmed clea manifestations of his ability whilst no different god had.

The Bible is increasingly meaningful to the hundreds of secular scholars who study it as a profound work of ancient literature. Your words are correct - the more educational standards drop, the more people will adopt your view of literature. When the Bible is considered meaningless gibberish, Shakespeare, Milton, and Satre will be considered meaningless gibberish as well.

That is easy for people like you to say who don't understand the bible. furthermore for someone who doesn't believe in the bible or an all power-full god, you sure know a lot about it.
Get a job, get a life, and stop trying to disprove peoples religion and we wont try to disprove whatever it is that you believe. all hail the all powerful spaghetti monster.

I do not think you have done your homework dear.
You need to read Evidence that demands a verdict, By Josh Mcdowell. There are other sources but that's the best and most credible source of bible history I have read in condensed form. and your wrong, the word of God will stand when nothing else does. Not even yourself.

Mark your words?? You are NOT God.
There are enough Christians in this world for Christianity to exist. The Bible will ALWAYS be The Bible. God is forever.
