I was at my grandma's last night and my uncle was watching mass on TV. I was listening and the priest started praying. In the prayer he said "we honor" and then listed a bunch of saints. He must of prayed for 5 minutes and the only time he mentioned the name of Jesus was in closing the prayer. Of all the probably 30 or more people he named to be honored none was Jesus. Shouldn't Jesus be the first one mentioned?

Jocko_Homo - I was playing cards at the time so I was listening to it as I could. And I am not sure which part of the mass it was in when my uncle turned it on. It just amazed me to hear so many people given honor and not give any to Jesus in that specific prayer. I am sure Jesus is honored in other parts but it just seems wrong to give a list of people to honor and not mention that Jesus should head the list.

It would really make sense to keep the priority straight, Jesus first.

The entire Mass is centered around Jesus. It begins and ends with Jesus. The saints can only be honored because of what Jesus did through them and because of their faith in Jesus. They are nothing without Jesus and the Mass would be nothing without Jesus.
Next time, watch it from beginning to end and then maybe you won't be so confused about what you are seeing.

You're right.
The name of Jesus Christ is not lifted up at European Catholic Church services.
The name which is lifted up is the politician European Pope's name.
The persons lifted up are the politicians of the European Catholic Churches who covered up child crimes in the USA and around the world.
The Catholic clergy matters; no one else does.
It's just time for the Catholic clergy to pat themselves on the back.
The only names mentioned are European Catholic saints' names.
Think unmarried eunuchs, single monks and nuns.
You'll never hear a Protestant name mentioned or the name of any USA president of the United States or USA governor of any of the 50 USA states mentioned at a Catholic mass service.
It's known as mass brainwashing from week to week.
Judaism is overlooked, on purpose, even though Jesus was a 100% Jew who taught at the Jewish Religious University known as the Temple of Jerusalem.
You will never hear the name of a happily married Catholic man or woman mentioned in the service. It is 100% mind control where all other non-profit religions are intentionally censored out to keep the European Catholic flock quiet, uneducated, and living in the Middle Ages.

Goodness. How much did you watch?
The Mass is begun "in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
Did you listen to the rest of it? The Scripture readings, directly from the source? (Either three or four, depending on weekday or Sunday)? The Confession of sins? The petitions of the congregation, where each is beseeching "Lord, hear our Prayer?"
Or maybe you missed the second part of the Mass, where the words of Jesus are prayed? Where we follow His command to "do this in memory of me?" Where we follow His command to "take and eat?"
You will hear what you want to hear, and see what you want to see. Focus on what YOU think should go on, not what we are commanded to do.
Here's a link to the Scriptural source of the Mass. I hope it helps you learn more about worship.

Did you not hear them pray for like 15 minutes about the Sacred Heart and all that stuff? That's about Jesus...
The list of the saints is a different list, I believe it's the list of people who either had their feast day the week before, or will have their feast day the week later...
It's not anti-Jesus in anyway...

Saved the best for last! Also, Jesus is not a saint, he is a Savior. They do honor those whom have passed away and the Saints are many to name.

Jesus was not a Saint. He was the Son of God. We catholics call for help from the saints. We do not worship them. It is ok it give them honor. Just because you honor your mom and dod doesn;t mean that you worship them does it??? Think about man.
