If all religion ceased to exist there wouldn't be a God as we know it today. There would be some other higher power someone made up. Who knows what they would call it?

Wow! i remember when this question stirred inside of me. and i wasnt satisfied with anyones answer. to ask this question means that your searching! and searching is good! im a christian but i havent always been a christian, believing is the first step. i came into contact with God in my living room. i practiced no religion and i wasnt going to church. my memory of sunday school is all i had. i guess when it comes down to it, when i started believing i started seeing! and i believe this for you, when you make this question mean more to you then someones best answer on yahoo, and call out to God....... Seek and you shall find. " Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. rev. 3:20".

Man has been making them up for centuries. There is a need to have one mentally. You have to have something to go by. A rule, reason, explanation and so on. Everyone has there own god.

Yes God exist. I know this is not the answer you want, but it is the truth, sometimes the truth hurts. truths like, you need a savior too. Jesus already paid your fine, repent of your sins and turn back to God before it is too late.

I'm really not sure. If your premise happens, I don't think that would be a bad thing either. Maybe humans would have to think for themselves. I'm afraid someone would take advantage of the situations though.

It's impossible to prove a negative, but in the absence of any tangible evidence to support it, it's only reasonable to act as if the answer is no.

Erasing all the religious books in the world does not change the fact that we have this void in our inner person that needs to be filled with something !!! And only God has the perfect answer - HIMSELF !!!

Of course not. There is countless evidence against an upper deity's existence and none for it.
