The best way that I've found, to help a cat find it's way back home is......take something that she's cuddled, slept, or rolled around on (gotten her scent on), and hang it over a fence, on a clothes line, tree, etc....something where the wind can blow over/through it, and send her scent "on the wind". She should follow her scent home, if she's able. It never hurts to walk around, with some smelly food, calling to her. To most people, 20 acres will sound awfully big, but I have 30 acres, and I've walked every inch if it, looking for a lost calf, so I know it can be done. The "smelly" food should illicit a reaction from her, if you get close enough for her to smell it. Good luck.....hope this helps.

Is your cat fixed? Is it a boy or girl? It could be looking for a mate. Be patient. Put out some food (although you may attrack some other animals). Did you check the trees and the barn? I hope you find her!

Call her, repeatedly. Has she ever been out before? If so, she probably knows her way home. Cats have a very good sense of direction. Try not to worry about it too much (I know this is hard), she'll probably come back when she's hungry.

She'll be back when she's ready to come back. She found something interesting and it has all her attention for now. Cats are natural hunters just like lions in a jungle.

set out food and fresh water each day she will eventually come back. Just keep thinking on the bright side. tell yourself that she WILL be back home. I really hope you can find her!
