God of War was probably the PS2's top game.
But it's a difference between Sony's exclusive games and Microsofts exclusive games. It's like Xbox 360 games get all of the hype like Halo 3, but top selling Playstation games like God of War don't get as much hype and excitement, but the game still sells like crazy because people know that it's a good game without having to see a million commercials about the game and a whole bunch of other crap like special cans of Mountain Dew dedicated to a game like Halo.
