You really do not want to make big family problems do you. Go with what you have and when your on your own you can do what you wish with your life. If you are doing good things that's what any good religion would want. Relax, learn and things will work out. Enjoy being a teenager because soon enough you will be unable to be as you are now. Peace

Merry meet, lady! ^-^

Five years ago i went through the same experience. The thing is, choosing another path can be very difficult, especially if you're still living with the 'rents--and with Christian (Catholic?) ones, chances are they're not going to take it very well.

For now, you've got it right: think. Think deeply, and carefully about this, about your REASONS, both for leaving Christianity (Once you are quite sure there is no turning back) and also for choosing whatever religion you feel you want to choose.

As for the next step towards a new religion, unfortunately, you're gonna have to do some reading and studying. As boring as that may sound, i'm sure if you're really serious about the new religion, more or less you'll have fun researching about it. By making a choice, you claim full responsibility for your own life...so you have to really know what you're getting into, right?

So there, those are the basics. Oh and remember, you DO have a right to your own spirituality. Never let anyone make you feel like religion is an obligation..its a choice. We just have to make sure our choices are for good intent..

good luck then! ^-^

"In our association with one another, we should take heed lest we forget Jesus, and pass along unmindful that He is not with us. When we become absorbed in worldly things so that we have no thought for Him in whom our hope of eternal life is centered, we separate ourselves from Jesus and from the heavenly angels. These holy beings cannot remain where the Saviour's presence is not desired, and His absence is not marked. This is why discouragement so often exists among the professed followers of Christ.
Many attend religious services, and are refreshed and comforted by the word of God; but through neglect of meditation, watchfulness, and prayer, they lose the blessing, and find themselves more destitute than before they received it. Often they feel that God has dealt hardly with them. They do not see that the fault is their own. By separating themselves from Jesus, they have shut away the light of His presence.
It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit. If we would be saved at last, we must learn the lesson of penitence and humiliation at the foot of the cross.
As we associate together, we may be a blessing to one another. If we are Christ's, our sweetest thoughts will be of Him. We shall love to talk of Him; and as we speak to one another of His love, our hearts will be softened by divine influences. Beholding the beauty of His character, we shall be "changed into the same image from glory to glory." 2 Cor. 3:18."(DA, 83)

A great book about this is Blue Like Jazz - the story of a young college guy's search for his spirituality.

Could you give some more info. about your faith and why you chose not to believe in it. Christianity isn't just about going to church. You need to have a close relationship with Christ. Try reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. It's a short book and it will help you through what you're dealing with. It's a similar story to yours.

Since you're young, you have plenty of time to investigate and discover what fits for you.

To help you in your research, I recommend looking into the following websites. They describe different beliefs and practices:

Whatever you choose, I wish you all the very best.

It's not bad to compare religions.

Ask, To what logical conclusion will a particular religion bring you?
