I had these many years ago and I was told it was a calcium deficiency but nothing to worry about sure enough they went away.

Apparently it's supposed to mean you have a calcium deficiency, but I've always had them, and when I was younger I was FAAAAR from a calcium deficiency. I had about 4/5 glasses of milk a day, I loved cheese and yoghurt...so I dunno. Maybe in my case it was too much calcium...?

It means that you have a zinc deficiency. Foods that are high in zinc are: bran, brazil nuts, parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese and similar cheeses, almonds, peanuts and English (!) walnuts

well people that i have talked to have said it is like a lac of calcium...but i believe that they are like little air pockets under the nail.....and eventually grow out....so you people can make up your own mind but i think that my answer sounds the most reliable
