CRSP: ;-) Yes, those are probably the most common elements, in chemical terms. Now let's think in other terms. We are, after all, mostly humanities majors here.

Depends on what you mean by spirituality.

When you strip out all the mystical BS people invent -- religions, metaphysics, etc - what is left are the natural psychological needs that evolved within us over thousands of years: The need to connect with nature and with other people. Do something to save endangered species, cultivate a garden, give to the poor, and you will enhance your "spiritual" well-being.

Well, even atheistic Buddhists have a metaphysics. I think metaphysics is a must, because that is what gives the transcendence or greater meaning that makes spirituality possible. Even an appreciation for beauty, in the way Dawkins claims, is metaphysical and teleological.

Ultimately, spirituality means transcendence of the usual boundaries of the self.

This means moving beyond ones own sentience to recognise and "feel with" the sentience of others.

Another word for "feeling with" is "compassion".

The rest, as a first century sage said, is commentary.

i don't think one must be non secular or maybe non secular to have their very own set of morals. additionally, I question your fact that basically human beings are able to : unsleeping self-progression. it rather is honestly nicely-known that birds will prepare flight formation for hours and are particularly solid at giving and taking instructions from the different birds. i've got self assurance (of direction without way of proving it) unsleeping self-progression. The realization that words have power?

Ideas, thoughts, and suggestions tend to materialize over time?

For example:

Happiness, health, love, money, prosperity, and success create different images than the word vinegar.

Yes, I can do it.

Wonderful.

Better, year by year.

Its called paganism.

and ill tell you why.

spirituality.....aims to transcend the mundane...

in order to transcend the mundane...u have to accept the fact that there is something more and higher than the mundane...hence...a spiritualism that does not contain metaphysics or god(s) is really non existant.
