It depends if we are talking colours of light or paint.
Green light is a specific frequency of light and is a primary colour. Green paint is a mix of yellow and blue paint which are themselves primary paint colours.

Red, Green and Blue are the primary colours. (Smudge is wrong). That's why your monitor colours are measured by their RGB (Red:Green:Blue) value. All other colours are made from these three.

Green is a color, the perception of which is evoked by light having a spectrum dominated by energy with a wavelength of roughly 520–570 nm.
It is created out of a mixture of yellow and blue, or yellow and cyan.
