Mustang Sally is close. The "correctable to 20/20" rule only applies if you wanna be a pilot. I work with C-130 pilots that wear glasses.

Yes, 20/20 vision is a necessity if you're wanting to fly a plane or something like that. My brother had less than 20/20 and he retired from the Air Force but he never flew a plane.

Here's the standards for vision corrected by glasses or contacts:
20/20 in the better eye. 20/400 in the other.
20/30 in the better eye. 20/100 in the other.
20/40 in the better eye. 20/70 in the other.
Near vision must correct to at least 20/40 in the better eye.
Refractive error cannot exceed 8 diopters (plus or minus) refractive index. This last one is waiverable.

You vision has to be correctable to 20/20. You can wear glasses or contacts and some service members even get Lasik whle serving.
