Could someone tell me what the "actual cash value" would be for the following car? I am just not sure where to look.

2000 VW Beetle
Good Condition
90,000 miles
Has sun roof if that matters.
Automatic

If you need other details let me know what you need and I'll post the answers.

It depends on the insurance you're dealing with. Some do retail and some do actual cash value. But they shouldn't be adding milage to determine the value, that's wrong. Keep in mind that an attorney could help you get the difference from the other party's insurance if allstate refuses to pay the correct amount.

Actual Cash Value (ACV) is true wholesale price. For example, a dealer may give you $5000 in trade for a new car. However, the true wholesale price (ACV) might be $4000. The difference is taken out of the profit margin of the new car.

Yes, boys and girls, that means that if you didn't have a trade you could have had another $1000 discount - if you were a good negotiator....
