They are both good, but I think the Cuisinart is a better value. I have this set, but I have the fifteen piece one. I love it! It is teflon coated, which is a God-send because nothing sticks. Another option is this:

It is very inexpensive, and very nice. It will last well too. Good luck and happy cooking!

Although Rachel Ray's product seems to be a good deal, I dont really trust the whole commercial idea. Personally, I would stick to the name brand that everyone uses like Cuisinart, Teflon, Calphalon, etc. These dishes have elegant and simple looks and they last a long time. My mother has many of them that she might have received when she got married like 20 years ago, but she still uses them, and they cook dishes 'o so well!'..Happy shopping!

Go with the Cuisinart, tried and true company, very good quality. I'm jealous that you can get that for the price (I'm in Canada, they won't ship here!). I like pink, but wouldn't be thrilled with it in my kitchen. It'll look ugly dirty! But I couldn't find the same set for that price that wasn't pink...
Don't bother with anything that's 'star' branded. Just doesn't make sense.
However, the two sets are of completely different materials, but for a family, go for the nonstick ones.
Just be SURE to only use nonstick, plastic, etc. utensils in them! Once you scratch that finish, the pan is never as good.

Personally, I like this one better:

The teflon coating is not all that it is cracked up to be - and VERY dangerous after it is scratched. Spray the stainless with PAM or similar, when cold, add cold oil to hot pans, and it will clean up easily.
I have two Wolfgang Puck woks from Sam's that I use for most cooking. We already had Farberware® saucepans. The stainless steel ones with thick aluminum bottoms are the best - the stainless is easy to clean up and the thick aluminum distributes the heat evenly.

If you want to spend around what you are looking at, I would rather see you spend your money on a hard anodized set (as opposed to a non-stick coating set...)
http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-Essentials-10-Piece-Anodized-Cookware/dp/B00064ZCZI
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601-8101923-3084942?ASIN=B000ILISN2&AFID=Froogle&LNM=B000ILISN2|Metro_7pc._Hard_Anodized_Cookware_Set__Black&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=B000ILISN2&ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001
I'm sure there are other hard anodized sets out there in your price range, too...
Hard-anodized pans are much more durable in the long run, plus they heat more evenly and look much nicer!
