OMG! And here I just found out I'm pregnant! What do I have to look forward to?
I guess this is a floor vent for central heart/air? Some of then have like hepafilters underneath the grate...if yours does, change the filter.
Also, doesn't febreeze have a pet odor eliminator? I know your son is not a PET but still it is for urine odors. Spray it down there really well and repeat often. Febreeze works on more than just fabric.
It is worth a try. GOOD LUCK!

Ha ha ha, I know how you feel! My son did the SAME thing!!! I used a mix of vinegar and water, washed it, dried it with a towel and then I went and found some vent filters. You can get them in the hardware section of walmart or where ever. The same place you get the air filters for the heat system. Trust me, you are not alone! My son is 3 and I was shocked and could NOT believe he did it!

I love when kids do things like that! Something totally unexpected that you would never have thought of in a million years. You have to give him credit for thinking outside the box. I agree with the fabreeze idea. I wouldn't use bleach, you would then smell bleach and that wouldn't be good, or safe.

Try using Nature's Miracle (and you have to follow the directions EXACTLY how they are written). You can get it at a pet store, but it works with anything!! You might want to try absorbing it with baking soda if it's possible. Until then...turn the heat off and write this down!! You will want to use the story when he is older!!!
