1. Mary had sexual intercourse with God the Father
False we believe in the Virgin birth. God is the Father but he didn't have sexual relations with Mary.
Quotes from Brigham Young and Bruce R McConkie have said to suggest this myth but none of those quotes says sexual relations were made and both believe in the virgin birth.
2. Jesus and Lucifer are brothers.
False Lucifer will not have a physical body so he won't be a brother of anybody.
Jesus is the only begotten of the Father by his power.
3. Joseph Smith was the only one to see the golden plates.
False 3 witnesses testified that the Angel Moroni showed them plates and they held them in their hands and kept testifying until they died even after leaving the church.
8 witnesses testified that they held the plates in their hands and they too kept testifying this until they died.
There will be more mythbusting soon.
To all the antimormons out there, I can't change your minds but please tell the truth about us.

The Plates now are in the hands of Moroni and taken from the earth. I don't know why but we are to believe by faith.
Just like Jesus was taken from the earth and ascended into heaven. Why isn't he here now I don't know why. Those are the mysteries of God.

Odd Duck yes he is our sprit brother from the pre existance but he rebelled against God and you might say disowned from our Heavenly Family.

Mariah I disagree. None of the witnesses of the Book of Mormon recanted his testimony of seeing the plates. There is no such thing as celestial sex. You read Orson Pratt's The Seer and that book has errors and isn't Mormon doctrine.

David that is your interpretation of the bible. Yes Jesus is the messiah, who died for our sins. I don't believe the bible says God can't reveal anything more.
If anyone uses the last words of Revelation to say the bible canon is closed I disagree. That pertains only to the book of Revelation.

Worshipping Heart. Would you go to ex protestants who are now Mormons to learn about Protestantism?
No you wouldn't
I and every LDS member agrees with me that there are lies perpetuated on Mormons to say what is or not their own doctrine.

Oliver Cowdery was mad at Joseph Smith when the Times & Seasons was published. He repented & was rebaptized in 1848. He had to testify in court about his character that he was the scribe for the Book of Mormon & he saw an angel showing him the plates & that the Book of Mormon was true.

Answering Odd Ducks remarks again.
We aren't created, we progressed from intelligences, not sexually but by the power of God into spirits.

Mormons believe in the inmortality of the soul

Sister DLR welcome to the church.
As for that cartoon, that's 20 years old from The Godmakers movie some antimormons made. The other antimormon snippets on youtube are other parts from that movie.

Kristy You are spouting anti mormon spins.
1. None of your answers says God the Father had sex with mary.
2. God is an exalted man. We are created in his image. We are all his brothers and sisters. Satan isn't the literal brother of Jesus but you can say he is a spirit brother of his in the pre existance. We all were brothers and sisters of Jesus. He is our elder brother.
He is the only begotten of the Father physically not by sexual relations but by his omnipotent power.
Another Mormon myth by Anti-Mormons is that God the Father had sex with his wives to produce spirit children.
False. We all existed from eternity as intelligences, we progressed into spirits by the power of God, not sexually.
3. Yes all three witnesses to the angel Moroni showing them the plates left the church because they had differences with Joseph Smith. Yes Martin Harris joined many denominations including the Shakers, but repented and was rebaptized into the church in 1857
He died a member.

Dear Brother,
As a brand new member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (well after my Confirmation tomorrow), I must say, I have seen the ridiculous cartoon on YouTube, and I actually laughed its stupidity. I do not worry whether people believe that garbage, for I just pray for the day when their eyes are opened up, and when they choose to pray for their hearts to receive the Holy Ghost. They will say to themselves, "OHHH!! That's what they meant."
I believe in the Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus Christ who willingly chose to come to this Earth and be born, grow up, prophecy, teach, heal and save, and then to willingly allow the Romans to crucify Him for our sins. I believe in the Book of Mormon, and that Joseph Smith was a living prophet, ordained by God to translate old "books" written on golden plates. I also believe in following the Commandments, in Baptism, Confirmation of faith, keeping the Sabbath day holy, renewing my baptism every Sunday by partaking in the sacrament, and in honoring my Covenant with Heavenly Father, and in the living prophet, President Hinkley. This I say in the name of Jesus Christ , Amen.

Just a little FYI about the Seer;
The Seer was a newspaper published by Elder Orson Pratt while serving a mission for the Church. In the paper, Elder Pratt gave his viewpoints on a number of gospel principles. When the Church discovered what Elder Pratt had written, he was censured and the writings were officially and publicly condemned for containing false doctrine. In a Proclamation of the First Presidency and Twelve, dated October 21, 1865, the Church said:
The Seer "contain[s] doctrines which we cannot sanction, and which we have felt impressed to disown, so that the Saints who now live, and who may live hereafter, may not be misled by our silence, or be left to misinterpret it. Where these objectionable works, or parts of works, are bound in volumes, or otherwise, they should be cut out and destroyed; with proper care this can be done without much, if any, injury to the volumes.
It ought to have been known, years ago, by every person in the Church—for ample teachings have been given on the point—that no member of the Church has the right to publish any doctrines, as the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, without first submitting them for examination and approval to the First Presidency and the Twelve. There is but one man upon the earth, at one time, who holds the keys to receive commandments and revelations for the Church, and who has the authority to write doctrines by way of commandment unto the Church. And any man who so far forgets the order instituted by the Lord as to write and publish what may be termed new doctrines, without consulting with the First Presidency of the Church respecting them, places himself in a false position, and exposes himself to the power of darkness by violating his Priesthood.
While upon this subject, we wish to warn all the Elders of the Church, and to have it clearly understood by the members, that, in the future, whoever publishes any new doctrines without first taking this course, will be liable to lose his Priesthood."

It's very natural and common for religions to lie about each other. There are many lies told by Christians and Muslims about Jews, by Protestants about Catholics, and malicious lies about Islam are VERY popular today.
So welcome to the club! 8^)
I knew that Mary didn't have 'sex' with God, how could a spirit have sex? Why would he -need- to have sex? And at the beginning of the Book of Mormon is a sort of preface with the testimony of the people who saw the plates.
Do Mormons really believe that Adam and Eve lived in Missouri?

Thank you, Brother G!!!
As for the last response posted before I responded, our faith is not changing. Those who change it are part of the apostate groups who still practice polygamy, or those of the Community of Christ (formerly RLDS). Those of us who are of the actual Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints know that the gospel of Jesus Christ does NOT change and it was because of the pholosphies of men mingled with scripture that God's Holy Priesthood was removed from the earth and then restored through Joseph Smith. But our faith and teachings are not changing.

You are correct on all points, but let me add a little more.
Jesus and Lucifer were SPIRIT brothers. As in, were both created by GOD. But we all were, so that means we are all brothers and sisters. So...( can you follow my train of thought yet?) Lucifer is also our brother. It just goes to show that no matter who your parents are, there will always be kids who rebel and don't want to do what their parents want.
Good on ya brother!!! Keep 'em coming!!!
*EDIT**
I know very well our doctrine, since I am LDS, I just wanted to point out that we believe that Lucifer is also our spirit brother. I was making it simple. Just to clarify!! :D

Does : The Times and Seasons (2:482) ring a bell??
Here one of the witnesses; Oliver Cowdery openly denies his "Book of Mormon" testemony....
Martin Harris, was banned from preaching, after openly denying the teachings of Brigham Young
..and finally; David Whitmer changed the details of his testemony concening the angel with the "Golden Plates" to say that it was a vision and not an actual visitation by an angel in peson (An address to All Believers in Christ,32)
Testemony from such unstable personalities are dubious at best.
I look forward to your next "Mythbuster" where we hopefully also will be presented with Scripture from God.
Sola Scriptura
PS
Please also include an explanation for Joseph Smiths Peep stone activities (treasure hunter), which was stated by Mr Joseph Smith Sr. in the publication: Historical Magazine, May 1870, and by his own mother in; History of Joseph Smith by his mother, 91-92)
May you find the right way

Sorry, my Bible is complete. It already holds all the answers to everything I need to know. When Jesus said:
But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. Mark 13:23 (end of story, period)
He did not say, I'll send you more information later from Angel Moroni."
Keep in mind that Revelation is a Prophetic book making the word SAW into the futuristic word "will" fall etc.

from my understanding then, mormon teachings are constantly changing , there are different sects of mormons that believe vastly different things or new mormons aren't let in on these teachings until certain levels of indoctrination- either that or exmormons have grouped together to spread evil lies about mormonism. I am not trying to be facetious or ignorant here but my understandings of the mormon religion and beliefs come directly from exmormons - and not just one- so I ask where do these "lies" come from- why is it 'common knowledge' , why is it such a widespread understanding that these are things mormons believe??
My thoughts are that the mormon church is trying to seem less and less outrageous and changing thier beliefs and teachings to become more acceptable to the general public and Christians in general.
I have read books by ex mormons who came from families who were mormons for many many generations and were in the church until their old age, heard teachers who were raised mormon since birth, talked to mormons and exmormons and what you are saying here is contradictory to everything I have learned - from the horse's mouth so to speak.
In response to your question, it dependes- if the person was raised in a family that practiced this religion for generations, then yes, I would - if it was someone that dabbled in the religion for a bit out of curiosity , then no I would not. I was raised a Catholic- I was a Catholic for a long time - if someone asks me, I have my reasons for leaving the Catholic church but I have no reason for lying about their teachings- If someone asks me - I tell them what I was taught- period. Why would several different people that were not related to each other in any form or fashion except they were Mormons all say the same thing ? What would they gain by lying about what they were taught and what they practiced their whole life? Sorry , but I am not buying your logic and I still question the origins and motives of the mormon faith.
