When push comes to shove which do you believe has more authority the Bible or your church/religious denomination? Which do you favor when/if a contradiction was to arise?

I already have my own belief concerning this question, so I am simply seeking what others think. I encourage Non-believers to put in their two cents by sharing what they think it should be or any thoughts they have concerning the question in general.

The Bible.

Church was built on the truth of the Bible.
But Bible was not built on Church. Ultimately The Bible has the Authority.

Any religion that believes in the Bible should follow the Bible. The biggest problem with that is some try to put there slant on what they want something in the Bible to mean and not what it means in the context of the whole book. There are know contradictions in the Bible. Man is good at making them. Some denominations pick and choose what to accept and what not to and that does cause many problems. Being a Catholic lessens this greatly. Peace

The Bible has more authority. To me, what purpose would there be in basing your religion on a book you claim NOT to have that authority. Why even bother accepting God, if the Book given to us to tell us about God is not accurate.

I have changed religions many times over conflict between the bible and the religion I am following. I have finally found one that is closer to the truth than I have ever seen. I am still cautious though, and compare what they tell me to what is said in the Bible. So far, no discrepencies.

A church denomination is made up of many minds ,debating over a long period.
The bible is a gathering of old parchments written by very superstitious fishermen and sheep herders , two thousand years ago . Their knowledge and information must be carefully questioned .
I would say that the bible is an interesting piece of early history and superstition .
