Absolutely. Prayer is the best way to stay in the Spirit. The bible instructs the believers to pray continually. Keep up the good work.

At my age, it could be nature but as often as possible I do ask the Lord what He wants me to pray for. Remember there are other believers in other time zones who are suffering for their faith. Our 3 am Eastern time could be 6 pm somewhere else and a brother or sister needs our prayers!
An excellent question.

I think your friend is right on. Lots of times the Holy Spirit is trying to tell you something. If we are sensitive to His leading, we may find ourselves praying for something very important. It could be someone needs help somewhere in the world, and He's looking for someone to pray for them. It's great to be the one God uses to accomplish something for someone through prayer.

Pray when you wake up for 30 days and it will become a habit. A good one.

Yes sometimes, specially when I have been neglecting my prayer, I think it is the holy ghost reminding us the importance of praying, after all it is the only way to comunicate with him, besides church.
Like the loving Father He is I guess he sometimes misses us and want us to comunicate.

Absolutely, even though it's not always obvious at the time who you should be praying for, but God knows all things, and in time you will find out. Trust me, there are no such things as coincidences with God.

Yes - my ex-pastor's wife told me that years ago, and I try to remember it - whether it is always true or not it is a great idea - God often gives me good rest after that.

Hi,
I agree. I have learned that as you deepen your faith with the Lord, He will initiate, allow you, to more deeply converse with Him. Wow! How lucky you are that you are moving toward that initimate relation with God. It is the "narrow road", but boy is it worth it.
I found this quote from a saint ( means a model) from the 4th century on our relationship with God. (from How to Converse Continually and Familiarly with GOD)
" Job was astonished at seeing Almighty God so intent on doing good to us that He seems to have nothing more at heart than to love us and to induce us to love Him in return. In his amazement he cried out to the Lord: 'What is man that you should make much of him, or pay him any heed?' Is it not a mistake, then, to think it a lack of respect for God's infinite Majesty to act towards Him with great confidence and familiarity?
Assuredly, loving souls, you should go to God with all humility and respect, humbling yourselves in His presence, especially when you remember your past ingratitude and sins. YET you should practice the greatest possible love and confidence in treating with Him. True, He is infinite Majesty, but He is also infinite Goodness and infinite Love. There can be no greater Lord than God; neither can there be a more ardent lover than He. Far from despising our confidence in Him, He rejoices that we have it - confidence and familiarity and affections like that which little children show towards their mothers.
Behold how He invites us to come to Him, and the loving embraces which He promises to lavish on us: 'As nurslings, you shall be carried in her arms and fondled in her lap; as a mother comforts her son, so will I comfort you.' Just as a mother finds pleasure in taking her little child on her lap there to feed and caress him, in like manner our loving God shows His fondness for His beloved souls who have given themselves eintirely to Him and have placed all their hope in His goodness." - (St. Alphonsus de Liguori)
God bless you on your journey with Him!
